Position Summary

Level: Consultant or Sr Consultant

As a Consultant / Sr. Consultant at Deloitte Consulting Services, you will be responsible for individually delivering high-quality work within due timelines. You may be required to mentor and/or direct junior team members and coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to understand and clarify functional requirements.

Work you’ll do:

As a Business Analyst, your role will be pivotal in helping clients optimize reporting solutions and streamline cross-team processes to boost overall business efficiency. You will act as an Insurance functional expert, understanding business requirements, translating them into source-to-target mapping documents, and liaising with database developers in designing the database. Additionally, you will coordinate with other stakeholders to ensure successful QA testing and error-free final deliverables. Your contributions will be critical in maintaining Deloitte’s standard of excellence and in continuing our tradition of serving complex global clients with dedication and expertise.

Below is the list of key roles/responsibilities expected of you:

  1. Business Requirement Mapping and Analysis:
    • Gather and analyze data requirements from business stakeholders.
    • Map business processes/data and coordinate with functional and technical teams to ensure end-to-end alignment.
    • Create clear, understandable documentation of requirements and functional solutions.
  2. Cross-Team Coordination:
    • Serve as a key point of interaction between business users, developers, testers, and support teams.
    • Proactively engage with both onshore and offshore teams to facilitate smooth requirement clarification, issue resolution, and delivery tracking.
  3. Process Initiative and Flexibility:
    • Demonstrate a proactive approach to anticipating project needs, identifying risks, and suggesting improvements.
    • Show flexibility in managing priorities and working hours to accommodate collaboration with global teams as required by project schedules.
  4. Technical Application:
    • Utilize JIRA for project tracking, requirement management, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
    • Apply SQL skills to analyze data, support development teams, and assist in data validation.
  5. Quality Assurance & Support:
    • Assist QA teams in test planning and execution; help investigate and resolve defects.
    • Collaborate with support teams to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues and bugs in the reporting process.
  6. Reporting and Documentation:
    • Develop, review, and improve management and operational reporting solutions.
    • Ensure thorough, up-to-date documentation of requirements, processes, and system changes.

Qualifications

Must Have Skills / Project Experience / Certifications:

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in working as a business analyst/ system analyst with a focus on Insurance sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of database concepts such as STTM, ETL, and BRD development, with experience using SQL for data analysis and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to gather business requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with business, development, QA, and support teams (onshore/offshore).
  • Proficiency with JIRA for work tracking and project management.
  • Prior experience of working on Guidewire or Databrics would be favourable but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive problem-solving, and a demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with an ability to manage shifting priorities and deliver quality work quickly.
