SAP PaPM Consultant: Job Description
Overview
As a PaPM Consultant you will help businesses leverage SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) to improve profitability analysis, optimize performance, and enable granular financial modeling and reporting. You will perform technical configuration, business process mapping, and also responsible for client stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Requirement Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs related to profitability, cost management, and performance KPIs.
- Translate client requirements into functional specifications in SAP PaPM.
- Solution Design & Implementation
- Design PaPM models, allocation logic, driver-based costing, and other performance analytics scenarios.
- Configure SAP PaPM environments, including data sources, rules, allocations, and integrations.
- Able to work on PaPM solutions on Cost Allocations, Transfer Pricing, Pillar 2 and other use cases.
- Technical Configuration
- Build calculation logic, perform data modeling, and set up performance measures within PaPM.
- Ensure correct integration with SAP and non-SAP source systems.
- Testing & Validation
- Develop and execute test cases to validate solution configurations.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve defects or configuration gaps.
- Training & Documentation
- Develop training materials and deliver sessions for end-users and client teams.
- Document solution designs, technical configuration, and project status updates.
- Client Interaction
- Act as the point of contact for client stakeholders during implementation phases.
- Provide ongoing support, enhancements, and best practice recommendations.
Required Skills and Experience
- Technical Skills
- 3+ years in SAP consulting, with at least 1+ year hands-on experience with SAP PaPM (or SAP FS-PER, the predecessor).
- Understanding of SAP HANA data modeling, views, and integration.
- Familiarity with SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or other ERP solutions is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Consulting Skills
- Ability to communicate complex concepts in understandable terms.
- Experience managing client expectations and facilitating workshops.
- Education & Certification
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related field.
- SAP certification in PaPM or related modules (preferred).
