USI Audit & Assurance – Credit Specialist
Responsibilities
· The Consultant supports our audit teams primarily as a Quantitative Credit Risk Specialist who assists with evaluating the appropriateness of the methodology and the reasonableness of the assumptions used by clients’ management in estimating Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL). This process involves obtaining an understanding of clients’ credit loss models, which range in complexity from simple Excel-based models to highly sophisticated models that leverage machine learning algorithms, Monte Carlo simulations, logistic regression, or other complex statistical methods.
· Quantitative Credit Risk Specialists must be familiar with programming languages such as SAS, Python, or R so that they can review clients’ model code and determine whether credit loss models are implemented consistently with documentation. Furthermore, Quantitative Credit Risk Specialists may at times need to write their own code to analyze client data.
· In addition to supporting audit teams, the Consultant may also be involved in consulting services related to quantitative analytics.
Educational qualification
• Financial Engineering/ Quantitative Finance/ BE/ BTech/ MBA(Finance)/ Statistics/Mathematics/data sciences.
Skills required
· 1 to 3 years professional experience in Credit Specialist domain (i.e. internships, full-time).
· Familiarity with financial accounting standards (GAAP) is a plus.
· Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, or SQL is a plus.
· Experience in credit risk modeling (e.g., PD/LGD/EAD), including the development and validation of credit loss models, is a plus.
· Experience with econometric models, managing large data set, Model Risk Management is a plus.
· Experience with developing independent fair value estimates (prices) for various classes of financial instruments is a plus. Additionally, candidates with background in probability and statistics with CFA/ FRM/PRM would be preferred.
· Strong analytical and computer skills including experience with quantitative analysis technical tools and techniques such as Refinitive, Markit, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Monte-Carlo Simulation tools such as Crystal Ball and @Risk, FinCAD, Numerix, Savysoft TOPS, Principia, Super Derivatives, are a plus.
· Experience with SPAN/clearing/margin models is a plus.
· Personal characteristics should include presentation, consulting, project management, client, and training / mentoring skills; strong presence, good communication and interpersonal skills; conceptual and quantitative depth in valuation methodologies and concepts and underlying markets and models.
· Ability to explain difficult financial modeling/valuation concepts to diverse audiences and to experts at various clients.
· Related consulting experience is a plus.

• 10AM to 7PM. Extended late hours may be needed during January and February
