As a Lead SDET Engineer specializing in test automation, you will actively engage in your software and quality engineering craft, taking a hands-on approach to multiple high-visibility projects. Your expertise will be pivotal in delivering solutions that delight customers and users while also driving tangible value for Deloitte's business investments. You will leverage your software and quality engineering craftsmanship across multiple engineering disciplines and modern frameworks, consistently demonstrating your strong track record in delivering high-quality, outcome-focused solutions. The ideal candidate will have a background in software development, test automation, and an understanding of modern testing frameworks and methodologies. This role will be pivotal in enhancing our test automation frameworks and ensuring the highest quality standards for our products.
Work you'll do
As an Assistant Manager - SDET on the Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining test automation frameworks that improve coverage, efficiency, and quality across products and platforms
- Serving as a quality advocate by aligning automation strategy, test design, and delivery priorities with business, customer, and product goals
- Integrating modern testing tools, techniques, and engineering practices into the software development life cycle to support scalable, maintainable solutions
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams across product management, experience, engineering, and delivery to translate requirements into effective automation solutions
- Contributing to continuous improvement through experimentation, technical problem-solving, and adoption of modern quality engineering practices

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, automation testing, and quality engineering, including framework development, tooling, test automation, and script development
- 1+ years of experience using artificial intelligence (AI), generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), or large language model (LLM) technologies in quality engineering
- Experience in user interface (UI) and application programming interface (API) test automation using Playwright, Cucumber, and Selenium
- Experience with TypeScript, Python, C#/.NET Core, Node.js, PowerShell, Structured Query Language (SQL)/NoSQL, Visual Studio Code (VS Code), Postman, and Fiddler
- Experience with behavior-driven development (BDD) methodologies, including Gherkin syntax
- Experience with cloud-native engineering using Function as a Service (FaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), or microservices on Azure, AWS, or GCP
Preferred:
- Experience conducting non-functional testing, including security, performance, and load testing, using LoadRunner Cloud, K6, SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer (DPA), Grafana, and PG Analyze
- Experience with Extreme Programming (XP), Lean, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Azure DevOps, GitHub, and SonarQube
