L25- Services Associate - Pre-Background Investigation of Post Government Employment Reviews - Government and Public Services (GPS)

Deloitte is seeking a Services Associate to support Firm Risk, Compliance, and Governance Services within the Government and Public Services practice. In this role, you will support post-government employment compliance reviews, analyze legal restrictions, and help deliver timely determinations for high-impact cases. This opportunity is well suited for professionals with legal training and experience working with compliance, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.

- Reviewing profiles of candidates, contractors, and sub-contractors with previous or current Federal or State, Local and Higher Education experience in accordance with applicable jurisdictional laws
- Preparing legal restriction documents in accordance with U.S. laws and policies on a case-by-case basis
- Preparing notes regarding State, Local and Higher Education laws within U.S. Codes and Acts, including annual amendments, and applying those provisions to candidate profiles
- Working directly with stakeholders from the U.S. Office of General Counsel to resolve potential high-risk cases and profiles
- Maintaining trackers, entering data into dashboards or systems, and preparing compliance documents, restriction notes, and summaries for review
The team
The GPS Compliance Post Government Employment Pre-BI team works with the U.S. Office of General Counsel to review the profiles of the candidates with Federal & State/Local Government and Public Institution of Higher Education experience and provide restrictions as per the Federal and State local laws including research and update the existing laws according to new amendments.
Review the dashboard for Federal and SLHE candidates, determine the candidate's jurisdiction or seek Ethics letter from Designated Agency Ethics Official, review restrictions, analyze and provide final determination. In terms of implications, this is a high-impact work as any violation can lead to conflict of interest, halting contracts with Deloitte, criminal and civil penalties.
GPS Compliance has evolved into a sensing and triage function supporting our GPS Practitioners and our internal business teams, effecting faster remediation of the issues.
Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 2 PM to 11 PM
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)
- 1-3 years of experience in legal, compliance, risk, or governance support
- Experience reviewing documentation against legal, regulatory, or policy requirements
- Experience preparing case notes, summaries, trackers, or compliance documentation
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred:
- Experience using LexisNexis
- Experience using Microsoft Teams
- Experience supporting reviews involving government, public sector, or higher education matters
- Experience working with U.S.-based stakeholders in a virtual team environment
