Specialist – Center for Energy & Industrials – Research & Insights - Industrial Products & Construction (IP&C)
Overview of the team and job profile:
Deloitte’s ER&I research center is one of the industry research groups within the Research & Insights (R&I) organization. The Center's goals are to:
- Assess opportunities and challenges facing companies in the Industrial Products & Construction (IP&C) sector, including aerospace, & defense, industrial products manufacturing, and engineering & construction.
- Provide practical insights - whether they are strategic, technical, operational.
- Bring together a range of stakeholders to address issues impacting the performance, resilience, and evolution of the IP&C sector.
- Draw on leading practices from industry professionals across disciplines such as strategy, operations, supply chain, advanced manufacturing, sustainability, digital transformation, risk, finance, regulation, and human capital to identify innovative approaches to critical challenges.

The candidate will contribute to the center’s research and thought leadership initiatives in the IP&C sector, with a particular focus on topics such as digital transformation, workforce, supply chain resilience, sustainability, industrial technology, aerospace & defense modernization, capital projects, data center construction, and other evolving industry issues. These include white papers, in-depth research reports, client presentations, account-specific collaterals, case studies, articles, and industry outlooks. These deliverables integrate information from a range of primary and secondary sources such as Deloitte subject matter experts, primary surveys, third-party research, analyst reports, presentations, industry commentary, and news articles.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the US and India-based ER&I team to work on projects that align with the research agenda.
- Conduct research, focusing on primary and secondary data, data analysis, and insight development for IP&C sector (manufacturing, engineering & construction, and aerospace & defense) research projects.
- Work with project leads to support projects in the IP&C industry across all key phases.
Responsibilities include:
ü Data analysis: Create data analysis plans, perform deep dives and cross-tabs, validate hypotheses, extract insights, and synthesize findings into client-ready briefing decks.
ü Insight development: Work with stakeholders and research leads to identify storylines and insights; visualize survey results using data tables and charts for use in XL, PPT, Tableau, or Power BI outputs.
ü Presentation support: Present results and summarize insights and recommendations in client-ready decks to support senior colleagues and leaders in internal and external meetings.
ü Research support: Support research proposals and projects being developed by IP&C project leads.
ü Whitespace research: Work with IP&C project leads and industry SMEs to conduct whitespace research.
ü Stakeholder management: Work with project leads to understand, refine, and manage client expectations and priorities.
Requisite experience and skills
- Strong analytical skills and knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, including use of industry, market, company, and proprietary data sources.
- 3–6 years of experience in research or analytics roles within IP&C-related sectors, preferably across industrial manufacturing, heavy industries, aerospace & defense, or engineering & construction, with exposure to agile, dynamic, and insight-led projects.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- High attention to detail, responsiveness, and a strong track record of contributing to high-impact projects.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple aspects of a project, and meet deadlines with a high level of ownership and accountability.
- Proficiency in one or more research tools/databases, including LSEG Workspace, Gartner, Mergermarket, D&B Hoovers, Factiva, or similar tools.
- Strong presentation skills in MS PowerPoint and hands-on working knowledge of MS Excel.
- Strong experience using one or more AI-assisted tools is required, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or Gemini.
- Working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, MarketSight, or AlphaSense is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.

Qualifications, experience, work location, and timing
· Academic qualification: Master’s degree, such as MBA/PGDBM or equivalent
· Work experience: 3 to 6 years
· Location: Hyderabad
· Work hours: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with flexibility to stretch during busy periods
