Position Summary

As a Software Engineer I, you will support the design, development, and delivery of scalable applications that help advance business priorities across Deloitte. This role offers the opportunity to work across full-stack engineering, application support, cloud platforms, APIs, and automation utilities using modern technologies and delivery practices. The ideal candidate brings foundational software development experience, a quality-focused approach, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

Work you'll do

As a Software Engineer I on the Application Development team, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate with the Technical Program Manager and business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements, and translate them into technical specifications and solution designs.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using Python, C#/.NET, SQL, and modern web technologies.
  • Build and enhance web applications, APIs, desktop applications, and automation utilities using frameworks and tools across the Python and .NET technology stack.
  • Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
  • Create, validate, and refine application prototypes and proof-of-concepts to support solution design and technical decision-making.
  • Deploy, manage, and support applications across cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Contribute to application quality through unit testing, functional testing, debugging, performance validation, and issue resolution.
  • Support DevOps activities for existing and new solutions, including code deployments, monitoring metrics, and developing deployment templates and scripts as needed.
  • Participate in the evaluation of emerging technologies and recommend innovative approaches that can improve existing solutions or address business needs.
  • Actively engage in daily status calls, team meetings, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned deliverables, progress, dependencies, and risks to the project lead.
  • Contribute to innovation-led initiatives such as hackathons, prototypes, and technical explorations.

The team

The Application Development team builds custom software, cloud-enabled solutions, and automation capabilities that support business priorities and operational needs across Deloitte. Team members work across engineering, functional, and testing disciplines to deliver scalable applications using modern technologies and delivery practices. This team environment offers opportunities to contribute to application modernization, API development, and technical innovation while continuing to build depth across the software development lifecycle.

Location: Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM IST

Qualifications

Required:

  • 1-3 years of experience in web application development or application development using Python and/or C#/.NET, web APIs, and SQL Server
  • Experience with C#/.NET, Python, SQL, JavaScript, HyperText Markup Language (HTML), and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
  • Experience developing web applications, desktop applications, and APIs using Python frameworks such as Flask or Django, with exposure to C#/.NET-based application development
  • Experience with full-stack application architecture, including front-end, back-end, database, and API integration
  • Experience deploying applications on Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Experience using Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server (TFS), and Azure DevOps
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure deployment pipelines, code management, and deployment processes
  • Exposure to data science projects
  • Experience creating application prototypes and proof-of-concepts
  • Experience with unit testing, functional testing, debugging, performance validation, and issue resolution
  • Experience preparing technical documentation and presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Visio
  • Experience working with functional, development, and testing teams in a structured delivery environment
