Position Summary:
Role: SDET II
As a Consultant in Deloitte Consulting LLP’s Engineering as a Service practice, you will support the design, development, and execution of automated testing solutions that help drive quality across the software development lifecycle. In this role, you will contribute to end-to-end test automation, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help improve delivery outcomes through scalable testing practices, defect management, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in test automation, a strong understanding of quality engineering principles, and the ability to work effectively in agile delivery environments.

As an SDET II on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for…
- Participating in business requirements discussions with client, onshore, and offshore teams to clarify requirements and translate them into automated and manual test scenarios, cases, and scripts.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end test automation solutions and reusable test assets aligned to business requirements and delivery standards.
- Executing tests, logging and tracking defects through closure, documenting results, and escalating risks or issues that may affect test activities.
- Supporting quality engineering across delivery teams by provisioning test data, validating outcomes, and contributing to reporting on test execution status.
- Contributing to agile and traditional delivery models by participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, estimations, and continuous improvement activities.

Location: Bengaluru/Hyderabad/Pune/Chennai
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM and 2 PM to 11 PM
Qualifications
Required:
- 4 - 6 years of hands-on experience in Build and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test automation using Microsoft Playwright.
- Design, develop, and maintain reliable E2E automated tests using Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests using Selenium (Java/C#/Python).
- Create scalable test frameworks (page object model, fixtures, reusable utilities, test data strategy).
- Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins) with quality gates and reporting.
- Implement cross-browser testing (Chromium, Firefox, WebKit) and parallel execution to optimize runtime
- Strong debugging skills; comfortable reading application logs and using browser dev tools.
- Understanding how to manage test data effectively, including creating, maintaining, and using test data sets.
- Deep understanding of STLC and defect life cycle process
- Experience in Agile/ Waterfall methodology using JIRA/ Trello/ qTest/ Opentext ALM
- Ability to perform estimation of work products
- Experience in test status reporting and leading a small team of 2-3 members.
- Flexibility to adapt and apply innovation to varied business domain and apply technical solutioning and learnings to use cases across business domains and industries.
- Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office tools.
- Effective communication within the team and the ability to follow instructions.
- SQL knowledge to perform database testing and data validation
Preferred:
- Experience in additional test automation tools such as TOSCA\ Ui-Path
- API test automation (Postman, REST-assured, APIRequestContext)
- Prior work migrating from Selenium/Cypress to Playwright.
