Deloitte is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager - Chef Dynatrace to support observability and automation initiatives within the Technology and Infrastructure organization. This role will help drive service reliability, automation, and operational efficiency across enterprise environments. The position requires a balance of technical depth, operational leadership, and stakeholder collaboration to improve monitoring, deployment consistency, and incident response outcomes.
Work you'll do
As an Assistant Manager - Chef Dynatrace on the Technology and Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for:
- Design, implement, and support observability solutions using Dynatrace to provide visibility across applications, infrastructure, and services.
- Develop and maintain Chef automation for provisioning, configuration management, deployment, compliance validation, and remediation.
- Analyze system performance, identify operational gaps, and recommend improvements to reduce downtime, improve reliability, and enhance user experience.
- Partner with managers, stakeholders, and technical teams to support process transitions, improve operational efficiency, and align execution with business objectives.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, capacity planning, performance analysis, and service onboarding activities.
- Build dashboards, alerts, and automated workflows that support data-driven decisions and advance self-healing operations.
The team
Technology and Infrastructure (T&I) supports the platforms, tools, and operational capabilities that help Deloitte teams operate efficiently and securely. The team focuses on improving reliability, automation, observability, and service performance across enterprise technology environments. This role works closely with operations, engineering, and leadership stakeholders to support scalable and resilient solutions.
Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM / 2 PM to 11 PM IST, or as needed
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience administering Dynatrace
- 5+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack
- 5+ years of experience with Linux or Windows development or systems administration
- Experience designing and supporting observability solutions across metrics, logs, and traces
- Experience developing automation using Python, Java, Go, or Ruby
- Experience working in collaborative coding environments using peer review and continuous integration
Preferred:
- Experience supporting large-scale operations environments
- Experience integrating Chef automation with continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
- Experience using Chef InSpec for compliance automation and configuration drift remediation
- Experience with troubleshooting, capacity planning, and performance analysis
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones
- Experience collaborating with software engineering and development teams
