Managing tax engagement teams is a critical part of an effective business strategy. As a Tax Consultant - II (Consultant – Business Project Management), for the PMO Group in the Indirect practice, you will join our team to help engagements to meet their compliance deadlines, analyze the data and coordinate and report to different stakeholders. We’re looking for people who are highly motivated, enjoy a challenge and thrive in a fast-paced environment; have excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills, as well as experience with using project management software and tools to track progress, manage resources, and collaborate with team members.
Work you’ll do
As a Tax Consultant – II (Consultant – Business Project Management), you will collaborate daily with high-performing teams, work closely with leaders to strategize and ensure that the engagement deliverables are met on time. Daily tasks may include interacting with a group of professionals who prepare tax returns across a broad range of clients and jurisdictions, coordinating with multiple client teams to meet client deadlines, organizing trainings based on the practice requirements, generating various reports and dashboards for the leadership, and providing appropriate recommendations based on information available.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Track all e-mails sent to the distribution lists, flag where action is required and requires action. Once task is done, mark complete. Maintain a tracker to leverage it to the workflow tool/Intela as applicable.
- Track filing of returns/Monthly Compliance Status tracking
- Track and update management on Notice status, resolution timeframe, approaching deadlines.
- Maintain internal and client-facing engagement status/deadline calendar/checklists across all clients.
- Follow up with engagement teams on a daily basis during busy period to track status/progress of engagement and provide updates to management on engagement status.
Client Data
- Track status of data sent by clients. Flag where follow-up deemed necessary.
- Co-ordinate with clients/engagement teams in case of data issues, in order to avoid delays and meet filing deadlines.
Client Management
- Track client SLAs (Service Level Agreement) and SLEs (Service level Expectations) and provide status of fulfilment to management.
- Set up distribution lists, eRooms, WBS codes for engagements.
- Track out of scope and in scope work done for the clients and ensure that all time spent on engagement is correctly and timely billed to the client.
- Help drive new client transition progress/run status calls on transitions.
- Maintaining a master database of clients with all requisite details available in the same platform
Documentation, Marketing and Technology
- Document processes and protocols within the group and make updates if needed to existing documents. Maintain a repository of SUT processes.
- Assist with maintaining utilization and staffing report of professionals on a daily basis during busy period and notify seniors of staff availability.
- Assist management with Intela implementation for SUT
- Own DTi/eRooms/Archive It and ensure documents needed by clients are uploaded.
- Provide project management support on any special projects for SUT and drive to fruition.

Qualifications
- Full time Master’s degree from reputed University
- 3 - 4 years’ experience in Project management
- Ability to work effectively with clients, leaders, and team members at varying levels.
- Work experience in a professional services industry
- Strong teamwork skills and relationship building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple work threads concurrently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence appropriate outcome.
- Detail-oriented; organized.
