Work you will do
This is a unique opportunity to be a part of growing Data & Analytics team supporting enterprise data and reporting solutions. You will manage and optimize a Microsoft SQL Server environment populated via SnowMirror, design data visualizations in Tableau, and build Performance Analytics (PA) and reporting solutions within ServiceNow.
· Maintain a deep knowledge of Tableau creator capabilities and design for the delivery of specific project requirements.
· Maintain a working knowledge of Tableau Server architecture and the capabilities around the publishing and scheduling of reloads.
· Ability to clearly communicate and update project leadership on-going challenges and deliverables.
· Mentor platform developers encourage innovation, growth, adoption, and overall excellence.
· Understand customer usage patterns and build relationships with key influencers in the internal Tableau community.
· Work with other specialists and architects to research and understand Tableau capabilities and be prepared to speak to when Tableau is best fit for use case and when not.
· Provide teams with guidance and knowledge to drive ownership and ultimately decisions to development/support teams.
· Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and reporting standards.
· Design and develop ServiceNow Performance Analytics (PA) indicators, breakdowns, widgets, and dashboards.
· Create and maintain operational and executive reports; implement reporting best practices and governance within ServiceNow.
· Support data integration between SQL Server and ServiceNow where required.
· Perform light to moderate ServiceNow scripting (JavaScript-based); develop and maintain business rules, UI policies, client scripts, and workflows/flows.
· Support configuration and enhancement of ServiceNow modules; participate in testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
· Skilled in data visualization and effective data storytelling.
· Assist other members to ensure the work meets quality standards for science-based deliverables.
· Analyze work product progress and provide objective reporting of project status.
· Analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, and convey them through effective writing.
· Facilitate the departmental Customer Satisfaction Survey from deployment to analysis.
· Prepare reports and deliver presentations to inform business leaders decision making. (e.g., Client proposal, progress reports, insight reports)
· Serve as a resource for the team who may execute individually assigned tasks.
· Support team activities and project planning.
· Develop and deliver special projects as required.
· Serve organizational role(s) in DAS Data Science Community of Practice as needed.
· Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements.
Key Responsibilities
· Work with the business and ITS technical teams to develop success measurement and analytics plans and ensure the infrastructure requirements are in place to measure the effectiveness of key features, ensuring that business goals and user needs are met.
· Performs standard business analysis using a variety of techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, descriptive and predictive analytics, ROI calculations, break-even analysis, pay-off analysis, and discovery-based data mining.
· Research and help define internal best practices and support developing the recommendations and solutions designed to help the business achieve desired outcomes.
· Accept overall responsibility and establishes appropriate controls for delivering team objectives of the key feature value assessment and application effectiveness monitoring deliverables.
· Work cross-departmentally to create analytics journey-map deliverables.
· Responsible for measuring application success and monitoring adoption goals and usage to accelerate user adoption of business applications.
· Works with internal clients and constituents to identify analytical needs, gather requirements, perform analysis, and interpret results and present findings and recommendations for implementation.
· Engage in data collection activities to ensure that all relevant data is captured to govern applied analytics development.
· Adept at framing business questions and practices in analytic terms and translating business requirements into corresponding datasets, analyses and required reports.
· Advise and collaborate with the Deployment Center of Excellence (DCOE) to establish adoption benchmarks and goals relative to promotional efforts.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Business Information Systems or MCA or equivalent degree.
Qualifications:
- · 5+ years of experience in design & creation of Tableau applications and/or administration of Tableau platforms.
- · Advanced level of experience in Tableau, and report/data mart modeling is must.
- · Hands-on experience with Tableau dashboard development & strong ability to translate KPIs into clear visual stories.
- · 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server; strong expertise in SQL query writing and database performance tuning.
- · Hands-on experience designing and developing ServiceNow Performance Analytics (PA) content, including indicators, breakdowns, widgets, and dashboards.
- · Proven ability to create and maintain operational and executive reports/dashboards, with strong understanding of KPI definitions, metric governance, and reporting best practices in ServiceNow.
- · Experience supporting data integration between SQL Server and ServiceNow (e.g., data imports/exports, reconciliation, and data quality validation).
- · Working knowledge of ServiceNow JavaScript-based development; experience building/maintaining Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Script Includes (as applicable), and Flows/Workflows.
- · Strong analytical, problem solving and multi-tasking skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills, is required.
- · Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex business concepts in non-technical terms.
- · Knowledge in IT Service Management principles, processes, and methodologies.
- · Consultative approach toward clients.
- · Experience working with SnowMirror or similar data replication tools.
- · Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
- · Familiarity with ServiceNow platform architecture and integrations.
- · Understanding of ITSM, ITBM processes within ServiceNow.
- · Advanced MS Excel and Pivot knowledge, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
- · ETL tools (SSIS, SAP BODS) and experience working with unstructured data is a plus.
