The US S&T team helps set Deloitte’s long-term direction for its businesses and enabling areas by applying an integrated, strategic approach to complex, high-impact issues and opportunities. Using an integrated, cross-functional approach, we help leadership anticipate disruption, prioritize investments, and build competitive advantage.Work You’ll DoAs a Deputy Manager in the US S&T team (USI), you will contribute to high-impact, high-visibility projects aligned to Deloitte leadership’s strategic priorities. Projects often require close coordination across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze Complex Project Data- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) large, disparate datasets using SQL, Python (pandas), or data integration platforms (e.g., Talend, Informatica).
- Perform data cleansing, normalization, and validation to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Apply statistical/data science techniques (e.g., regression, clustering, outlier detection) to identify trends and insights.
- Visualize findings using Tableau, Power BI, or Python tools (e.g., matplotlib/seaborn).
Craft Stakeholder-Ready Insights- Synthesize analytical results into clear, actionable insights.
- Develop and automate dashboards and reports using appropriate BI tools.
- Create presentation materials (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides) with defined metrics and business implications.
Define and Document Metrics & KPIs- Facilitate workshops to elicit and document critical business metrics and KPIs.
- Maintain metric definitions in source-of-truth documentation (e.g., metrics repositories, Confluence, Jira).
Collaborate on Business Process Design- Map current/future state processes using BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio).
- Translate process requirements into user stories or functional requirements.
- Support process reengineering and optimization efforts.
Create & Maintain Logical Data Models- Design ERDs (Entity-Relationship Diagrams) using tools such as Erwin, dbt, or Lucidchart.
- Define data elements, relationships, and business rules.
- Build data mappings between source (operational) and target (analytics/reporting) systems.
API / Integration Specifications- Partner with technology teams to specify REST/SOAP endpoints, payload schemas, and authentication (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
- Document schemas using OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Develop sample integration guides and test payloads.
Produce Technical Documentation- Draft system/data flow diagrams (e.g., UML, BPMN, data lineage tools).
- Maintain version-controlled documentation repositories (e.g., Confluence, Git).
- Create SOPs and knowledge articles for delivery and operational teams.
Deliver Stakeholder Outputs- Build Excel-based models (advanced formulas, pivot tables, Power Query).
- Develop structured written reports using templates/style guides.
Education & Experience- Education: MBA / MTech / MCA from a reputed school
- Experience: Minimum 8 years total experience, including 5+ years in technology or a similar function, with a track record of delivering technology-driven engagements
Required / Preferred SkillsData Analysis & ETL- Proficiency in SQL (e.g., SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, window functions)
- Basic Python (e.g., pandas, numpy for data manipulation)
- Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, Informatica, Talend, Azure Data Factory)
Business Intelligence & Visualization- Dashboarding and visualization in Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent
- Advanced Excel (e.g., Power Query, Data Model, advanced formulas)
Data Modeling & Mapping- ERD design (e.g., Lucidchart, Erwin, dbt documentation)
- Source-to-target mapping and documentation in data dictionaries
API / Integration Basics- Understanding REST concepts and methods (GET, POST, PUT, DELETE)
- Ability to read Swagger/OpenAPI documentation
- Familiarity with JSON and XML
Business Process & Architecture- BPMN diagramming (Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio)
- Ability to read and interpret system/solution architecture diagrams
Documentation & Collaboration- Experience using Confluence, Jira, or similar tools
- Comfort creating data/process flow diagrams
Working Style & Communication- Comfortable working in an unstructured environment; able to solve open-ended problems with incomplete data
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to present complex ideas succinctly to senior executives
- Experience working in virtual teams and with US clients; ability to coordinate closely with US colleagues, including awareness of US technology-market dynamics and regulatory considerations
