Role description
The Technology Strategy analyst provides essential analytical and research support, informing strategic decisions and identifying new technology opportunities for Deloitte UK IT. This role assists in the development and implementation of IT strategy, contributing data-driven insights into business cases and transformation programmes. The Analyst also supports project coordination, documentation, and communication efforts to ensure the successful delivery of strategic initiatives. Supports digital strategy, operating model, and transformation initiatives by conducting analysis, synthesizing insights, and developing practical recommendations. The role blends structured problem-solving with stakeholder collaboration to improve business performance through technology, process, and change.

This role strategically impacts the organization by providing foundational research and data-driven insights that inform critical technology strategy development and investment decisions. By supporting the efficient coordination and execution of transformation initiatives, the Analyst directly contributes to the successful adoption of new technologies, enhances operational effectiveness, and helps Deloitte UK IT to capitalise on emerging opportunities, thereby accelerating the firm's digital evolution.
Roles & Responsibilities
- · Assist in the development and advancement of Deloitte UK IT’s technology strategy, contributing to strategic priorities and identification of new opportunities.
- · Conduct in-depth research and analysis of emerging technologies, industry trends, and competitive landscapes, synthesising complex inputs into concise, business-oriented insights.
- · Maintain technology/strategy knowledge repositories and horizon-scanning updates to keep stakeholders current on relevant developments.
- · Provide data-driven insights to support business cases for technology investments and transformation programmes (benefits, costs, risks, dependencies).
- · Translate technology concepts into business cases, roadmaps, and adoption plans tied to measurable outcomes.
- · Develop leadership-ready briefings that translate research and analysis into clear options, recommendations, and implications for decision-making.
- · Create executive-quality PowerPoint presentations (storyline, slide builds, charts/visuals, and crisp messaging) to support strategy, roadmaps, business cases, and transformation updates.
- · Adept at leading digital initiatives, optimizing business processes, and implementing data-driven, scalable, and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.

- · Track and explain the broader landscape of emerging technologies and digital products, translating technical concepts into business value, risks, and adoption considerations
- · Map current-state processes, identify bottlenecks, define future-state workflows, and support implementation of scalable, innovative solutions. Use data to define KPIs, measure outcomes, and drive continuous improvement
- · Support the implementation of organisation-wide transformation initiatives, contributing to change management plans to enable adoption of new processes and technologies.
- · Collaborate with the Technology Strategy Manager and stakeholders to gather inputs, facilitate discussions, and align on decisions and next steps.
- · Coordinate transformation projects and workstreams, including scheduling, action tracking, and management of project artefacts and reporting inputs.
- · Support increment planning cadences, including documentation of Program Increment (PI) events and processing of strategic demand requests.
- · Support tracking of project budgets and actual spending, assisting the Manager and Finance Business Partner with financial data compilation and reporting.
- · Prepare and maintain core documentation and communications materials (e.g., roadmaps, reports, updates) for varied stakeholder audiences.
- · Proactively identify and escalate risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement across strategic and transformation initiatives.
Qualifications
- · Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field.
- · 6+ years of experience in technology-focused roles spanning business analysis, product strategy, digital-first transformation, and artificial intelligence (AI) adoption.
- · Experience in analytical, research, or project support roles, ideally in technology or business consulting environments.
- · Proven ability to translate business needs into product/technology requirements, aligning stakeholders and delivery teams.
- · Experience enabling AI adoption, including use-case identification, implementation planning, and change management to drive business value.
- · Strong understanding of IT concepts and business processes, with exposure to domains such as cloud, AI, and cybersecurity.
- · Exposure to data analysis and reporting.
- · Familiar with project management fundamentals and common methodologies.
- · Experienced facilitating workshops/discussions with diverse stakeholders.
- · Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- · Desirable: Experience working in an Agile environment and familiarity with Agile frameworks.
- · Experience with strategy roadmaps, business case development, and transformation governance updates.
- · Familiarity with common business artifacts (e.g., process maps, requirements, user journeys, KPI frameworks).
- · Exposure to emerging tech areas (e.g., AI, automation, cloud, data platforms, digital products).

Certifications:
- Entry-level certifications in project management or business analysis.
- MS Office Suite, Power BI
- ITIL Foundation, Price 2 Foundation, Agile Scrum Master) are a plus.
