Senior Analyst – DevOps - Performance Engineer - Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited

Operations Mandate – from an overall ITS perspective, leveraging USI resources is strategically aligning with the Firm’s Alternative Delivery Services model.  Along with other professional lines of businesses such as Tax, Advisory, Consulting and Enabling Areas like Marketplace and Business Operations, ITS is building its services and capabilities in USI to conduct operational tasks and responsibilities that allow Canadian onshore teams to focus more on ITS and business priorities.  In addition, ITS continues to grow and strengthen its Support Services presence in Hyderabad to provide quality client-facing support for our USI Canada Professionals.

Technology and Infrastructure team manages datacenters, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, Servers, applications, databases, operating systems, security and patching systems, network, etc. including maintenance, routine operations, Infrastructure-related Event and Incident Management.

Role Specific Responsibilities / Work you’ll do

The Performance Engineer will engage in and prepare for end-to-end testing activities for various projects within cloud environments, utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AI, ML, cognitive search, and cloud database services. This role requires a proactive individual to approach, analyze and triage production and production bound applications, suggesting cost-effective performance optimization options. The successful candidate will design comprehensive testing strategies by collecting and interpreting non-functional business requirements, and will develop, maintain, and enhance application performance test plans, strategies, and test artifacts. The engineer will design and develop automated test scripts with a strong emphasis on LoadRunner VuGen scripting across various protocols. Additionally, the role includes creating workload models and performance scenarios for sites built on technologies like .Net, J2EE, PeopleSoft, Salesforce, OpenText RMDM.

  • Engage in performance engineering for cloud-hosted applications using AI, ML, and cognitive search.
  • Collect and interpret non-functional business requirements for performance testing.
  • Design testing strategies and plans based on performance requirements.
  • Analyze production applications and infrastructure for performance optimization.
  • Develop and maintain application performance test plans and strategies.
  • Conduct test executions, analyze results, and generate reports.
  • Design and develop automated test scripts, focusing on LoadRunner VuGen scripting.
  • Develop workload models and performance scenarios for technologies like Salesforce, J2EE, .Net, PeopleSoft.
  • Prepare test data, configurations, environments, and schedules for performance activities.
  • Ensure timely completion of deliverables, adhering to quality processes.
  • Coordinate development and execution of testing harnesses, stubs, drivers, and scripts.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, Development, and Architecture SMEs to analyze test results.
  • Identify opportunities for system performance tuning and capacity optimization.
  • Analyze project defect trends and publish improvement reports.
  • Be a point of contact for DevSecOps. Understand project requirements and deliver accordingly.
  • Partner with development and operations teams to facilitate practical automation solutions and custom modules. 
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and when required engage the resources to find practical solutions.
  • Be a trusted automation and tooling advisor for DevSecOps initiatives by providing objective, practical and relevant ideas, insights, and advice.
  • Deliver tasks based on project objectives; technically support projects through to completion.  Ensure deliverables are completed within target timeframes and are consistently of high-quality, documented and support transition of operational activities
  • Self-starter who can work through any complex applications and can create Knowledge and Process documents surrounding applications, support and operations
  • Ensures applications are available and reliable via proactive capacity and problem management

Work Location: Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM IST / 2PM – 11PM IST

USI DT Canada is the Canada CIO’s IT department which manages an end-to-end portfolio of Canada business applications and technology infrastructure that supports business processes common to Deloitte Canada member firm.

Our IT & Systems team works behind the scenes and is essential to the Deloitte organization. Our forward-thinking team members have the analytical skills needed to parse mountains of data and stellar communications skills needed to present research, discovery, and recommendations in a logical and easily understandable way. Our technologists provide IT infrastructure support to develop custom enterprise applications.

In addition, Technology and Infrastructure team manages datacenters, servers, applications, databases, operating systems, security and patching systems, network, etc including maintenance, routine operations, Infrastructure-related Event and Incident Management.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • A Computer Science University degree and/or equivalent work experience
  • A strong commitment to professional client service excellence
  • Excellent interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with others effectively in teams
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent Analytical Skill

  • 3 – 5 years of relevant experience in DevOps

  • Source Control: Git, GitHub; Configuration Management: Chef, Ansible, Puppet; Deployment Automation: Azure DevOps, Jenkins; Continuous Integration: Jenkins; Containers: Docker, Orchestration: Kubernetes, Cloud Platforms: Azure, AWS
  • Strong experience working with tools - Azure DevOps Server 2019/2020, Azure DevOps Services, Git, GitHub, Jenkins, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraforms etc.

Preferred:

  • MS certifications especially AZ-104 OR AZ-303 OR AZ-400 is valuable but not Mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL and/or Agile methodologies
