Job Description: Assistant Manager – Enterprise Cloud Monitoring (ECM)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Assistant Manager to join our Monitoring Team. The ideal candidate will have over 6-8 years of total IT experience, with a strong background in application and infrastructure monitoring, and proven expertise in Dynatrace and other monitoring tool. This role requires leadership skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to drive monitoring strategy and operations for critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Management
    • Lead and mentor a team of monitoring analysts and engineers.
    • Oversee daily monitoring operations, ensuring timely incident detection and resolution.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, Infrastructure, Application Support) to enhance monitoring coverage and effectiveness.
  • Monitoring Strategy & Implementation
    • Develop, implement, and optimize monitoring solutions using Dynatrace.
    • Define and maintain monitoring standards, best practices, and documentation.
    • Drive proactive monitoring initiatives to improve system reliability and performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for monitoring-related queries and escalations.
    • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand monitoring requirements and deliver solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Minimum 6-8 years of total IT experience, with at least 3 years in a monitoring-focused role.
    • Hands-on experience with Dynatrace (installation, configuration, dashboarding, alerting, troubleshooting).

  • Technical Skills:
  • Knowledge on Enterprise Monitoring tools Such as (Dynatrace, Datadog, Azure monitor).
  • Experience in integrating cloud monitoring with other IT management tools such as IT service management (ITSM) systems, incident management, and ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of log management and analysis tools for capturing and analyzing log data generated by cloud resources.
  • Understanding of cloud performance monitoring methodologies, including the use of synthetic transactions and real-user monitoring (RUM).
  • Proficient in monitoring cloud resource utilization and cost optimization, including identifying idle resources and implementing auto-scaling policies.
  • Familiarity with cloud security monitoring practices, including detecting and responding to security incidents, vulnerability scanning, and compliance auditing.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, network engineers, and security specialists, to ensure effective cloud monitoring.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to convey complex monitoring data and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in conducting performance testing and capacity planning exercises for cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring solutions and technologies, such as Kubernetes monitoring, serverless monitoring, and microservices monitoring.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
