Assistant Manager – Global Strategy Innovation and Public Policy (SIPP)

We are seeking a professional with 6+ years of experience in corporate strategy and/or business consulting to join our Global Strategy, Innovation, and Public Policy team in India. Exposure to policy-related work—such as experience in a think tank, business advocacy organization, or similar environment—is highly desirable.

Work you’ll do

The professional will be a part of an internal strategy consulting team that influences strategic decision making for the firm. The professional will need to develop a knowledge of the firm’s business, new technologies, and professional services market at the global level. The professional will be expected to lead and/or assist on a diverse range of projects involving analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, produce executive presentation material, and demonstrate solid analytical and writing skills. The team’s projects are typically high-impact and high-visibility aligned to the firm and leadership’s strategic priorities.

Your key responsibilities will include

  • Manage projects with minimal supervision from ideation to delivery
  • Assist team members to ensure that work meets accuracy and high-quality standards
  • Analyze and interpret project data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations based on the result of the specific outputs
  • Build, synthesize, and present strategic insights and recommendations
  • Independently develops reports, writes briefs, and reviews sections written by the team; coaches team members on organizing their output logically and persuasively
  • Actively participates in brainstorming sessions; surfaces ideas while holistically understanding the project requirements and Deloitte offerings to propose effective solutions
  • Collaborate with US/India team members and manage all aspects of assigned projects
  • Build effective working relationships with subject matter experts and clients

Qualifications Required

  • MBA or Master’s Degree like MBE/MFC/MIB/Economics from a reputed school
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years in consulting, corporate strategy, or a closely related function. Good to have exposure to policy-related work such as experience in a think tank, business advocacy organization, or similar environment.
  • Experience in tracking and understanding the implications of global regulatory systems and evolving frameworks across major and emerging markets and offering both tactical and strategic advice to senior leadership.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills; outstanding analytical, research and presentation skills.
  • Good data visualization skills and ability to present data analysis in intuitive graphical and tabular formats.
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint; experience in using statistical tools (like SAS, SPSS, or R) will be an advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present complex ideas succinctly to senior executives.
  • Exposure to working in virtual teams and experience working with Global clients. Since the job requires significant coordination with colleagues across the globe, the ability to network with US counterparts is important.
