Overview of the team:
Deloitte's Research & Insights (R&I) team provides global thought leadership, elevates its practitioners as thought leaders, and boosts Deloitte's brand in the marketplace. Within the broader R&I, the Deloitte Consumer Industry Center (or the Consumer Center) is one of the industry teams.
The Consumer Center conducts differentiating evidence-driven thought leadership to influence conversations (s) at scale and to initiate meaningful engagement with clients. Four sectors — Automotive, Consumer Products, Retail, and Transportation, as well as Hospitality and Services — together constitute the Consumer Center.

Job profile:
The incumbent will contribute to advancing Retail, Wholesale & Distribution research and thought leadership initiatives by developing white papers, in-depth research reports, case studies, articles, and research insights for client/conference presentations. The candidate will join the Hyderabad, India-based Consumer Center team and work closely with the US and India teams to execute projects aligned with the sector research agenda.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of the Retail sector thoughtware through:
- Doing white space analysis to identify new research topics and supporting the development of research proposals and research plans
- Conducting in-depth primary and secondary research to form or support the hypotheses and generate insights. A few research techniques include designing surveys, analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, deploying advanced statistical methods, interviewing senior executives within and outside Deloitte, conducting focus-group discussions, and carrying out third-party research
- Developing research insights decks with recommendations to assist senior practitioners in internal and external events/conferences
- Independently author research reports, point-of-views, articles, and case studies
- Present research insights to Deloitte's sector practitioners within and outside R&I
- Using various GenAI tools to generate and deploy industry insights.
- Developing an understanding of Deloitte's solutions, services, and offerings
- Working in a team environment and build a network within R&I and teams across the US India offices
- Guide junior team members to understand and execute research studies
- Actively using social media to share and promote thoughtware reports and amplify their reach
Requisite experience and skills
- 6 to 8 years of experience in research roles aligned with the Retail sector. An understanding of the Consumer Products sector is an added advantage
- Demonstrate experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods such as statistical analysis, primary research (consumer surveys, executive surveys/interviews), financial analysis, secondary research, data analysis, and case studies
- Cited as an author/contributed extensively from project inception to deployment of research reports
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; skilled in storyboarding and logical structuring.
- Ability to develop compelling and analytical data visualizations using one or more software tools like Excel, PowerPoint, or others. Woring knowledge of other analysis tools like MS Excel (macros), SPSS, MarketSights, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, R, and Python
- Working knowledge of databases/market intelligence platforms such as AlphaSense, CapitalIQ, Factiva, etc.
- Application of GenAI tools to strengthen research rigor and accelerate the development of insight-driven thought leadership
- Ability to work with distributed and virtual teams, especially those that span international geographies
- Knowledge of promoting content on major social media platforms, such as LinkedIn and X
Qualifications, experience, work location, and timing
- Academic qualification: Master's Degree, like MBA/CFA, or equivalent qualification
- Work experience: Minimum of 6 years with Big 4, consulting, or equivalent research organizations
- Location: Hyderabad
- Work hours: 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. (expected to stretch during busy periods)

The team's work includes:
- Managing relations with internal stakeholders
- Using advanced data science and survey advisory capabilities to strengthen the credibility of insights.
- Leveraging editorial and visualization capabilities to improve the impact of firm thoughtware
