Position Summary

Communications - Project Management –  Web Development & Technical Delivery – (USI Deputy Manager)

About the role

As a Project Management –  Web Development & Technical Delivery Lead, you will lead planning and delivery of web solutions across Deloitte’s internal platforms, with a primary focus on SharePoint-based solutions and associated front-end/custom development. You will own end-to-end project management, drive delivery excellence through strong governance and stakeholder management, and bring a hands-on technical expertise to translate requirements into clear delivery plans and actionable execution. With 7 to 9 years of experience, you will also coach and mentor junior team members, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and champion innovative, user-focused solutions. This role offers opportunities to drive design excellence, influence digital strategy, and manage complex projects within a dynamic, high-performing environment.

What you’ll do

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of web development projects on SharePoint and related internal platforms, managing scope, schedule, resourcing, risks, and quality from intake to launch.
  • Establish and run project governance including workplans, RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) tracking, decision logs, change control, status reporting, and stakeholder readouts—ensuring predictable execution across multiple concurrent initiatives.

·       Technical Planning & Coordination: Translate business needs into well-defined technical requirements and delivery plans; partner closely with developers, designers, content owners, and platform stakeholders to ensure feasible solutions aligned to standards and constraints.

·       Hands-on Technical Contribution: Provide technical oversight and occasional hands-on support related to SharePoint configuration, front-end development, web components/scripts, or code review to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards.

·       Stakeholder & Communication Excellence: Serve as a primary point of contact for internal stakeholders—facilitating requirements workshops, managing expectations, communicating tradeoffs, and maintaining strong alignment on priorities, timelines, and outcomes.

·       Quality, Risk, and Compliance Mindset: Ensure solutions align with brand standards, accessibility expectations, and applicable risk/technical policies; define quality checks and acceptance criteria and drive disciplined UAT (user acceptance testing) and release readiness.

·       Team Leadership & Performance Management: Manage performance and development for team members through goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, and formal performance inputs; build an environment of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

·       Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify delivery bottlenecks and implement process improvements; promote best practices in agile/iterative delivery, documentation, and operational excellence. Leverage AI tools (e.g., for summarization, drafting, backlog grooming support, test case generation, documentation acceleration) for improving team productivity and quality.

Qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields. 7–9 years of experience in digital delivery/project management, preferably including SharePoint-based web development in an enterprise environment.
    • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end delivery using established project management methodologies (agile, hybrid, or waterfall as appropriate).
    • Strong command of project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, SharePoint lists/planners, or equivalent).
    • Ability to manage scope, estimates, timelines, dependencies, budget/resource constraints (where applicable), and change control.
  • Technical & Platform Understanding (SharePoint/Web):
    • Strong working knowledge of SharePoint (Online preferred) and web delivery concepts (information architecture, publishing, permissions, environment management, release cycles).
    • Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and common front-end patterns; able to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and review technical approaches for feasibility and risk.
    • Experience with version control (e.g., GitHub) and structured development practices is preferred.
  • People Leadership & Performance Management:
    • Prior experience leading small teams and managing performance outcomes; skilled at coaching, delegation, quality review, and developing talent.
    • Ability to set clear expectations, provide actionable feedback, and create development plans aligned to team needs and individual growth.
  • Business & Communication Skills:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; confident presenting status, decisions, and tradeoffs to internal stakeholders and leadership.
    • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and drive closure.
  • AI Fluency:
    • Comfortable using AI tools to improve delivery efficiency (documentation, meeting notes, backlog refinement, drafting communications, test/support artifacts), with sound judgment on confidentiality and quality validation.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus but not mandatory (other relevant certifications also valued).
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and outcomes-driven; strong collaboration skills; ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment.
