Tax Accounting & Projections– Assistant Manager
The Assistant Manager in Tax Accounting & Projections supports the US Firms Tax quarterly taxable income projections process by preparing analyses and workpapers, validating and reconciling data, and contributing to deliverables that enhance transparency and visibility for Partners, Principals, and firm leadership.
This position helps ensure outputs are precise, timely, and well documented in line with established methodologies and controls. The Consultant works closely with Managers and Directors to verify completeness of inputs, substantiate calculations, and prepare materials for executive reporting.
During peak compliance periods, the role also assists in preparing tax return workpapers and elements of federal, state, and local tax returns to support the US Firms Tax compliance process.
Work you’ll do
As a Tax Accounting Consultant on the US Firms Tax team, you will be responsible for:
Support quarterly projections workpapers and analysis· Prepare workpapers, schedules, and supporting analyses for the quarterly projections cycle
· Collect and organize inputs; perform completeness checks and document data sources
· Complete calculations, analyze results, and summarize key movements for review
· Support scenario modeling efforts and variance reporting against prior projection outlook and actuals with clear, traceable support
Execute controls and documentation standards
· Follow standard templates, checklists, and version control practices
· Maintain clear documentation of assumptions, changes, and reconciliations
· Flag data quality issues, outliers, or inconsistencies early with proposed next steps
Support communications and leadership-ready materials
· Build and update reporting tables/exhibits as directed; ensure tie-outs to underlying workpapers
· Incorporate review notes promptly and accurately while maintaining disciplined change control
· Support compilation of deliverables for internal reviews and approvals
Continuous improvement and innovation
· Suggest improvements (templates, trackers, standard workpapers, data quality checks) to reduce cycle time and rework
· Support testing enhancements to the projections process
· Capture recurring questions or issues to help strengthen standard guidance
Collaborate across the cycle
· Participate in working sessions, track actions and support follow-ups with stakeholders
· Coordinate handoffs with adjacent workstreams; communicate status and risks to deadlines
· Proactively ask clarifying questions early to prevent rework and missed requirements
Support tax compliance / return preparation (as needed)
· Prepare and organize tax return workpapers and supporting schedules used in federal, state, and local filings
· Assist with data gathering, tie-outs, and reconciliations to support return positions and disclosures
· Maintain documentation and evidence standards to support review, governance, and filing requirements
· Coordinate with compliance team members to meet deadlines and ensure complete handoffs
The team
This position is a part of the US India Firms Tax team. The Firms Tax team is responsible for ensuring entity level compliances for all the US companies, besides catering to the tax essentials and advise to US companies’ business and enabling functions ecosystems. The team consists of tax professionals with adequate expertise in handling tax matters. This team works in close coordination with the US finance, legal and enabling besides business teams to ensure optimum tax health of the US companies named above.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or Analytics
• 6 to 8 years of experience in tax, finance, accounting, or analytics roles
• Experience preparing workpapers, schedules, or supporting analyses for recurring reporting or compliance processes
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to work with datasets, calculations, and recurring workpapers
• Experience performing reconciliations, tie-outs, or data validation activities
• Experience preparing documentation to support review, governance, or reporting requirements
Preferred:
• Experience supporting corporate tax, tax accounting, or financial reporting activities
• Experience preparing federal, state, or local tax return workpapers
• Experience with scenario modeling or variance analysis
• Experience using standard templates, checklists, or version control practices in recurring processes
• Certified Public Accountant credential or progress toward Certified Public Accountant credential

Work Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM
