Deputy Manager (DTA)
Role overview
The Deputy Manager will help plan, execute, and continuously improve technology learning programs by combining program operations discipline with analytics-driven insights. Working within a blended US/USI team and reporting to the Thread Leader or Manager, you will coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, ensure high-quality deliverables, and elevate learner experience through data, feedback loops, and iterative design.
Key responsibilities
- Program planning & execution: Operationalize end-to-end learning programs and processes that enable technologists’ performance and growth (intake, timelines, delivery readiness, communications, post-program follow-through).
- Learning experience improvement: Monitor learner engagement and outcomes; identify friction points and implement enhancements across curriculum, content, facilitation, and participant experience.
- Analytics & insights: Use critical thinking and data analysis to identify trends, correlate drivers, and recommend solutions to complex program and stakeholder needs.
- Continuous feedback loop: Gather feedback from practitioners and stakeholders; synthesize qualitative and quantitative inputs into actionable insights and measurable improvements.
- Deliverable quality management: Create/review program artifacts for accuracy, consistency, and quality (e.g., plans, status updates, reports, learner comms, post-mortems).
- Cross-functional leadership: Participate in or lead project teams, building collaborative partnerships among business and talent stakeholders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and peers.
- Seamless delivery across teams: Coordinate dependencies to ensure a cohesive, reliable learner journey across geographies and functions.
- Risk & issue management: Proactively raise risks/issues, manage-up, and drive actions that protect outcomes, timelines, and learner experience.
- Remote, global teamwork: Contribute effectively across time zones; support a high-performing and inclusive team culture.
- Market curiosity: Stay current on trends in technology training/academies (including competitor benchmarking) and bring forward pragmatic opportunities to modernize offerings.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 10 years of related professional experience
- Demonstrated project and program management experience: organization, managing and analyzing data, keeping multiple and simultaneous tasks/projects on track
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to communicate effectively and credibly, both verbally and in writing, with audiences at all management levels and across teams
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively in a fast-paced, complex, multi-tasking hybrid environment
- Coach and support junior team member(s) through regular check-ins, on-the-job feedback, and delegation of scoped work; help build capability in program operations, stakeholder management, and analytics; contribute to performance goals and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills
- In Excel, aggregate data, conduct complex analysis, and display results visually
- In PowerPoint, translate data into insights and tell a logically structured, succinct, and compelling story tailored to your audience that conveys clear, actionable recommendations
- In Word, create clear, concise communications with a user-friendly layout conducive to cognition
Preferred:
- Experience working in a learning and development organization; especially in the space of instructional designing related to technology learning
- Experience in overall training process management, learning strategy and design (especially for technology-related programs), vendor management, project management, cross-border stakeholder management, financial management
- Prior experience in working in L&D of IT organizations
- Prior consulting or professional services experience
- Strong orientation towards and understanding of contemporary technology trends in general, and technology related training in particular
