Government & Public Services (GPS) Sales Excellence – Proposal Studio – Manager

 

We are seeking a dynamic Manager to lead our Proposal Studio team, focusing on leveraging Generative AI tools to produce first draft proposal responses efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding organizational and program management skills, be a strategic thinker, and a natural collaborator. You will oversee a team of pursuit support specialists dedicated to developing initial response deliverables for various solicitations, supporting the US Government and Public Services (GPS) business. This role is pivotal in utilizing tools and resources to synthesize compelling responses and drive innovation in proposal development.

Work You Will Do

As a Manager in the Proposal Studio team, you will ensure efficient processes are defined and adhered to, and GenAI technology is utilized to support rapid responses to pipeline requests. Your role will be critical in ensuring that the proposal kickoff/jump-start materials meet or exceed defined quality standards and expectations. You will lead a highly cohesive and engaged team in India, steering team members towards strategic GPS business priorities and maximizing the use of Gen AI tools.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the proposal studio team to identify and implement opportunities for process improvement.
  • Lead the team in utilizing Gen AI tools to generate, edit, and refine proposal content.
  • Collaborate with pursuit teams to gather and organize necessary materials and information required for the proposal startup phase.
  • Ensure the team leverages leading pursuit practices following the GPS pursuit methodology process diligently and utilizes available tools/technology for first draft proposal development.
  • Perform quality reviews of drafts to mitigate potential issues and share feedback with team members to encourage an atmosphere of continuous process improvement.
  • Ensure all proposal documents are consistent with company branding and are compliant.
  • Provide frequent reports and regularly meet with Sales Excellence leadership to drive the Proposal Studio team’s priorities, provide status updates, and report concerns.
  • Ensure team members are well utilized and foster a culture of innovation and efficiency
  • Continuously update and improve proposal content based on feedback and evolving best practices.
  • Tailor AI-generated responses to meet specific client requirements and RFP guidelines.

Additional responsibilities

  • Manage the performance of team members through regular check-ins, providing timely feedback based on personal observations and client feedback.
  • Help in creation/management of project allocation and deployment, create proposal deliverables.
  • Lead effort to manage access to various tools and platforms (MS Teams, Email, SharePoint, among others).
  • Responsible for the quality of deliverables executed by the India team members.
  • Identify and address development and training needs for India team members, map their career paths, and elicit the best possible performance from each team member.
  • Manage performance evaluation of team members and recognize them with timely rewards.
  • Ensure compliance with GPS and firm best practices, including adherence to templates and guidelines.
  • Manage change effectively within the team, particularly in adopting new technologies and methodologies.
  • Define clear performance metrics and KPIs for the team, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support for proposal initiatives.

 

The Team

The USI GPS Sales Excellence team is an essential part of Deloitte's Government and Public Services (GPS) practice, dedicated to driving strategic sales initiatives and supporting the pursuit of high-value opportunities. This team works in close collaboration with US-based counterparts to ensure a cohesive and effective sales process. They are involved in key activities such as opportunity identification, competitive intelligence gathering, and providing comprehensive proposal support. The USI GPS Sales Excellence team plays a pivotal role in enabling Deloitte to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to government clients, maintaining a competitive advantage in the public sector marketplace.

Qualifications

  • Academic qualification: Master’s Degree like MBA
  • Work experience: 10+ years

Required skillsets & personal attributes

  • Familiarity and understanding of GenAI technologies.
  • Strong project management skills with proven experience in providing counsel to senior executives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to differentiate writing style based on audience.
  • Executive presence with an ability to support communications and interactions with leadership.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite and visualizing concepts using PowerPoint. Working understanding of SharePoint and MS Teams.
  • Attention to detail with good client service attitude.
  • Management of small size teams, including evaluating performance, delivering timely and effective feedback, and providing career coaching.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess situations, identify problems, and develop effective solutions.

Desired skills

  • Good understanding of the Government and Public Services industry and an understanding of US Government contracting, acquisition, and proposal management process.
  • Experience in Proposal automation tools like Qvidian, Responsive, GenAI tools and prompting best practices, etc.
  • Ability to think strategically and conceptualize operational plans.
  • Knowledge of workflow management process and tools.

Work timings: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM (India Time)
