Position Summary

Power BI and SSRS Developer – Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited

Work you’ll do: Design, build, and deploy Power BI and SSRS solutions that meet stated requirements and needs, deliver quality results with minimal impact to end users, and support our goal of technology leadership. Research and evaluate new and emerging features and tools for both Power BI and SSRS, providing analysis on potential use within the firm.

Role Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing & maintaining interactive dashboards & reports using Power BI. Create, develop, and test Power BI reports and dashboards, utilizing advanced DAX calculations and Power Query transformations, as well as complex SSRS reports using advanced SQL queries and SSRS expressions. Use Power BI Service to publish reports, manage workspaces, and set up sharing permissions, and use SSRS server to deploy reports, manage subscriptions, and monitor report performance. Role will also cover aspects of data integration, performance optimization, and required security measures to ensure efficient and secure access to reports.

Responsibilities: 

• Power BI:

  • Power BI Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Integrate data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and flat files.
  • Optimize Power BI datasets for performance and usability.
  • Create custom visuals and reports using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query.

• SSRS Report Development:

  • Design, develop, and deploy SSRS reports to meet business needs.
  • Maintain and enhance existing SSRS reports, ensuring data accuracy and relevance.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• SQL Database Management:

  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
  • Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and security within the database environment.
  • Assist with database design, normalization, and optimization.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with MFs and other team members to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Provide training and support to the team members along with MF POCs on Power BI and SSRS report

Required Education, Qualifications, and Experience Settings:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in fields of data analysis and reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or demonstrable experience in a similar role for a global organization.
  • Proven experience in developing Power BI and SSRS reports and handling various data integration scenarios.
  • Previous work in business intelligence, data analysis, or IT support is desirable.
  • Ability to diagnose complex data issues and implement effective solutions to optimize report performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, explain technical concepts clearly, and provide training and support.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Capacity to handle various data sources and adapt to new reporting techniques as technology evolves.
  • Capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Power BI and SSRS technologies and their application to a global organization such as Deloitte.
  • Proven ability to develop strategy and work across stakeholders to gain consensus.

Preferred:

  • Prior experiences in same-level companies: "Big 4"; or expertise in specific industry.
  • Familiarity with advanced Power BI features such as Power BI Embedded and Power BI Premium.
  • Experience with integrating Power BI with other Microsoft technologies like Azure and Dynamics 365.
  • Knowledge of SSRS integration with SharePoint and other enterprise platforms.
  • Experience in developing custom visuals for Power BI and custom extensions for SSRS.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements (optional)

  • Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate or equivalent certification.
  • Certification in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or equivalent.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree.

Good to have

·       Programing skills like Python with libraries like pandas, dataframes and Matplots, R and Powershell
