QA Engineer (Manual & Automation) – Deloitte Support Services India Private Limited
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer with 3–4 years of hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure software quality across web and API interfaces. You will collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to deliver exceptional, defect-free solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute manual test cases for web and mobile applications.
- Perform API testing using tools such as Postman/SoapUI to validate endpoints, data, and error handling.
- Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing to ensure application quality and system reliability.
- Write and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium or Tosca (mandatory), with Playwright/Python automation experience as an added advantage.
- Create basic SQL queries to validate and verify backend data and database integrity during test cycles.
- Identify, document, and report bugs; track and verify bug fixes.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Participate in test planning, estimation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in test coverage and quality processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 3–4 years in software testing (manual and automation).
- Manual Testing: Strong experience with functional, integration, and regression testing.
- API Testing: Proficient in testing REST/SOAP APIs using tools like Postman or equivalent.
- Automation: Hands-on experience with Selenium or Tosca for web/API automation. Playwright with Python is an advantage.
- SQL: Ability to write and execute SQL queries for data validation.
- Bug Tracking: Proficiency with JIRA, ADO, or similar tools.
- Documentation: Strong skills in test case creation, execution, and defect documentation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred/Optional Skills
- Experience with Playwright (especially using Python scripting).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of automation framework design and best practices.
