Strategy & Transactions - Mergers & Acquisition – IT - Consultant

From strategy to execution, this team helps deliver integrated support covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, M&A, and sustainability. Work alongside teams every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and support in providing practical insights at certain stages of their journey—before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.
Position Summary
Level: Consultant or equivalent
As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
Work you’ll do:
We guide M&A initiatives for companies to help expand and accelerate revenue and cost synergies, reduce transaction risk, and retain key talent, even as they make structural changes to their business, operating model, or capital model. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- 1. Develop client deliverables and documentation:
• Identify and select the most relevant set of tools/techniques to meet client requirements such as business case development, financial modeling, and analysis, etc.• Analyze and interpret project data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations based on the result of the specific outputs.• Use analytics to build strategic insights for the client.• Define project standards, methodologies, and execute process improvement initiatives.
- 2. Engage in client interaction:
• Conduct client interviews to verify and validate assumptions, hypothesis, and analysis.• Participate in workshops and training sessions.• Synthesize and present insights and recommendations.• Develop and maintain working relationships with client counterparts.
- 3. Participate in engagement management including:
• Own and manage specific work threads.• Develop plans for components of engagements.• Coordinate activities between different work threads.• Identify and help manage changes in scope.• Manage and mentor junior resources.

M&A IT Consultants are expected to advise clients, serve as subject matter experts, execute projects, and have strong outcome orientation. The candidate should have experience in delivering Technology/IT consulting projects. M&A experience is desired but not mandatory. An ideal candidate should have the following experience and skill set:
- Guide clients on key concepts and strategies for M&A engagements, including but not limited to Due diligence, Day 1/Day 2 planning, business continuity planning, synergy identification / capture, one time or stranded cost analyses, testing and system cutovers.
- Advise on large, complex transformation engagements by identifying and designing creative business and technology solutions for large companies. Candidates are required to have experience in:
- Understanding of corporate IT landscape and IT strategy development
- Planning and executing IT integration, separation and transformation projects in M&A deals
- Projects involving design, development, testing and data migration of enterprise systems such as ERP (SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics etc.), CRM, Big Data, HRIS etc. including integration of enterprise applications.
- Providing subject matter expertise across critical components of IT landscape:
- Applications (experience across SDLC)
- Enterprise Architecture
- Infrastructure (Servers, Storage, Network, End User Computing, Service Desk)
- Data Center Strategy (Optimization, Redesign, Consolidation, Co-location)
- Data Migration (strategy and planning)
- Security and Access Management (Cybersecurity Services, Enterprise Directory)
- IT Operating Model
- IT Financials in M&A and Transformation Scenarios (IT OpEx/CapEx Cost Modeling, Synergies)
- IT Transition Service Agreements (TSA)
- Advise clients on industry-leading solutions that enable complex transformations across different technology areas such as Applications Rationalization, Cloud Strategy, Infrastructure Virtualization, Data Management etc.
Qualifications
