Strategy & Transactions - Mergers & Acquisition – I&D MO - Consultant
Join our team of Strategy & Transactions professionals to help guide Deloitte client service teams through some of the critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team helps deliver integrated support covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, M&A, and sustainability. Work alongside teams every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and support in providing practical insights at certain stages of their journey—before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.
Position Summary
Level: Consultant or equivalent
As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.
Work you’ll do:
We guide M&A initiatives for companies to help expand and accelerate revenue and cost synergies, reduce transaction risk, and retain key talent, even as they make structural changes to their business, operating model, or capital model. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- 1. Develop client deliverables and documentation:
• Identify and select the most relevant set of tools/techniques to meet client requirements such as business case development, financial modeling, and analysis, etc.• Analyze and interpret project data, draw conclusions, and develop recommendations based on the result of the specific outputs.• Use analytics to build strategic insights for the client.• Define project standards, methodologies, and execute process improvement initiatives.
- 2. Engage in client interaction:
• Conduct client interviews to verify and validate assumptions, hypothesis, and analysis.• Participate in workshops and training sessions.• Synthesize and present insights and recommendations.• Develop and maintain working relationships with client counterparts.
- 3. Participate in engagement management including:
• Own and manage specific work threads.• Develop plans for components of engagements.• Coordinate activities between different work threads.• Identify and help manage changes in scope.• Manage and mentor junior resources.

Capabilities of an M&A I&D Management Office practitioner will include the following:
- Advising clients on separating/carving out a business unit for divestiture, integrating newly acquired target with buyer’s organization.
- Formulating organizational integration/separation and re-alignment strategies.
- Preparing for Day-One (legal ownership transfer) / Day-Two (focus shifts from deal execution to operational transition / TSA exit) readiness of M&A transactions and executing the plan.
- Assessing, developing and executing workplans for integration/separation of supply chains, distribution networks, R&D, sales & marketing, and back-office operations (like Finance, HR, IT).
- Developing blueprints (capturing details of current and expected future people, process, systems and contracts of target, acquiror and combined company).
- Developing, executing and monitoring synergy business plans on integration.
- Developing, operationalizing and exiting transition services agreement (temporary support from the Seller / Parent company provided during the transition period to ensure business continuity).
- Developing culture and change management strategy and initiatives.
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- MBA is mandatory
- 1-3 years of relevant experience for Consultants
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Consulting Background
- M&A advisory experience
- Program/Project Management office experience
- Investment banking experience on the sell/ buy side
- Industry M&A strategy experience
- Specific functional knowledge in areas of Finance, Operations, Procurement etc.
- Demonstrated experience in financial statement and operations analytics
Education: MBA is mandatory.
