Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) as the name suggests is intriguing and complex. It calls for a business mindset to understand the rationale behind the transactions and ability and willingness to dive deeper into industry issues and bring greater insights for our clients. We are looking for a person who is passionate about M&A and willing to serve challenging client needs and ensuring the client demands are met.
Work you’ll do
Preparation of workbook / Databook to be used for financial due diligence engagements:
· Analyze financial data from statements, trial balances, and supporting schedules for accuracy and insight
· Prepare and organize Excel databooks, including charts and graphs, from both hard copy and online data sources
· Review due diligence reports for inconsistencies within the reports and against financial workbooks
· Support Deloitte teams before deals by conducting company profiling, identifying potential buyers, and tracking industry events
· Identify unusual financial trends or variances and develop targeted questions for management insight
· Collect, validate, and consolidate data to strengthen financial analysis and reporting
· Contribute to detailed due diligence reports to support robust deal analysis
· Coordinate communications with clients and collaborate with onshore US teams for seamless project execution
· Enhance reporting and insights through expert use of analytics and data visualization tools (Alteryx, Tableau)
The team
Mergers & Acquisitions Transaction Services team provides support for Financial due diligence (‘FDD’) services to the Client, both Private Equity clients as well as Strategic Investors, which entails comprehensive financial review of the target with the goal of providing a complete picture of its financial position and sustainable cash flows, highlighting the value and risks of a transaction, and identifying issues for reflection in SPA and completion accounts.
Required:
· CA/CPA/MBA Regular (Finance) with 2 to 3 years’ relevant experience in financial analysis and interpretation preferably with experience of working in M&A transactions
· Having basic to advanced knowledge of MS Excel, with basic knowledge of preparing templates, graphs, charts, etc., from information provided in hard copies and downloaded from data sites
· Have an eye for detail
· Analyze financial data sourced from financial statements and supporting schedules
· Be able to add industry specific key performance indicators (KPI’s)
· Reconcile databook with source information, before sending to the onsite team
· Be able to do basic secondary research to understand the target better
· Work within the set timelines and communicate deviations/updates to Project Lead and/or Onsite users
· Willingness to help other team members once own work is completed.
