Position Summary
Level: Senior Consultant
As a Senior Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-scale software solutions, lead the creation of robust pipelines and manage code deployment across environments. You will collaborate with cross-functional, global teams to translate functional requirements into effective deliverables, independently guiding and mentoring junior team members. Your role spans the full project lifecycle, including estimation, planning, execution, and tracking key metrics for analysis, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of solutions.
Work you’ll do
• Lead the end-to-end architecture and delivery of large-scale, microservices-based enterprise applications.
• Define service boundaries, establish API standards, and govern best practices for distributed architectures.
• Design cloud-native, containerized, and event-driven systems leveraging Spring Boot, Kafka, and Kubernetes.
• Drive modernization initiatives, including legacy to microservices transformation and API-first strategy adoption.
• Establish and enforce DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and observability frameworks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Partner with business, product, and technology leaders to translate complex requirements into scalable solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (serverless, reactive frameworks, service mesh, etc.) to enhance performance and reliability.
• Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams, promoting technical excellence and innovation.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise security, data protection, and performance optimization standards.
• Contribute to Deloitte’s internal knowledge base through technical whitepapers, design patterns, and innovation accelerators.
The team
Our Finance Transformation practice develops and licenses a growing family of proprietary software products (see http://www.deloitte.com/ft) to assist financial institutions with a number of complex topics, such as accounting for credit deteriorated assets and the administration of investments in leveraged loans.

Qualifications:
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
• 9+ years of experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture with significant exposure to enterprise-scale systems.
• Proven expertise in distributed system design, cloud architecture (AWS/Azure/GCP), and event-driven systems.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and API management platforms (Apigee, Kong, Zuul, etc.).
• Deep understanding of security frameworks (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, SSO, TLS) and network-level configurations.
• Experience designing and integrating message-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
• Strong command of database design across SQL and NoSQL systems (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
• Demonstrated expertise in CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible), and DevOps automation.
• Proven experience mentoring teams, conducting design reviews, and leading architectural governance forums.
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
• Experience implementing service mesh solutions (Istio/Linkerd) and API gateway configurations.
• Exposure to reactive microservices, serverless computing, or edge computing models.
• Familiarity with AI/ML model integration and data streaming within microservice architectures.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Oracle Certified Java Developer.
• Prior experience in consulting environments or client-facing technology advisory roles.
• Python Expertise
o Drive adoption of multi-language backend architectures, combining Java and Python for flexibility, scalability, and analytics capabilities.
o Establish Python governance and design standards — ensuring performance, security, and maintainability across all services.
o Lead initiatives where Python microservices complement Java systems for AI, ML, and data-driven decisioning across enterprise projects.
Education:
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (3 Year) within a technical field.
