Position Summary
Level: Consultant or equivalent
As an experienced Consultant at Deloitte Consulting, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines. Need-basis you will be mentoring and/or directing junior team members/liaising with onsite/offshore teams to understand the functional requirements.

Qualifications
What you’ll do (Responsibilities)
- Own and run the Salesforce DevOps lifecycle: planning → build → CI/CD → testing → release → post-release validation.
- Configure and maintain Copado pipelines, promotions, user stories, and release trains.
- Define and enforce branching, versioning, and environment strategy across sandboxes and production.
- Build/maintain CI jobs (e.g., Jenkins) for validation, deployments, and automated checks.
- Implement code quality gates (e.g., SonarQube) and ensure standards for Apex, LWC, metadata, and static analysis.
- Support release governance: deployment readiness, backout plans, release notes, and stakeholder communications.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures (metadata/API limits, dependencies, package issues) and drive root-cause fixes.
- Partner with admins and developers to improve release reliability, speed, and compliance.
Must-have skills
- Hands-on Copado (mandatory): real experience configuring pipelines, user stories, promotions, conflict resolution, and deployments.
- Strong Salesforce platform foundation:
- Salesforce Administration knowledge (metadata types, security model, environments, change sets vs DevOps tools, etc.).
- Branching & environment strategy experience (sandbox strategy, branching model, merge practices, release trains).
- Version control experience—preferably GitHub (or equivalent Git-based workflows).
- CI/CD experience with Jenkins (or) GitHub pipelines (or) Azure DevOps (ADO) for Salesforce (job configuration, integrations, automated validations).
- Code quality / static analysis exposure (e.g., SonarQube) and understanding of quality gates.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce deployment mechanics (metadata dependencies, profiles/permissions considerations, destructive changes, validation vs quick deploy).
- Consultant-grade behaviours: requirements clarification, stakeholder communication, documentation, and operational ownership.
- Managing Salesforce sandbox life cycles, seeding data, and ensuring data consistency across environments.
- Data Load and Manual steps automation
- Working across teams (developers, QA, release management) to ensure smooth, rapid releases
Good-to-have skills
- Experience with alternative Salesforce DevOps tools: Flosum, AutoRabit, Gearset.
- Knowledge of Bash, Python, or Salesforce CLI for automating environment configuration.
- Exposure to automated testing, including Apex unit tests and UI testing, along with mocking techniques for faster deployment.
- Packaging experience (2GP/managed packages/unlocked packages) and/or SFDX-based workflows.
- Automated testing strategy experience (Apex tests, regression approach, test data strategy).
- Basic release analytics/monitoring and DevOps metrics (deployment frequency, change failure rate, lead time).
- AI knowledge (practical): using AI-assisted reviews, release risk identification, or quality insights
Certifications
- Copado certifications (recommended)
- Salesforce Administrator certification (recommended).
- DevOps lifecycle certifications (optional).
Education:
- BE/B.Tech/M.C.A./M.Sc (CS) degree or equivalent from accredited university
