Position Summary:
Level: Senior Consultant or equivalent
As an Architect Senior Consultant, you will design and deliver scalable enterprise architectures that power Deloitte’s modernization and AI initiatives. You’ll lead solution design across cloud platforms and guide engineering teams through implementation, ensuring performance, scalability, and compliance with firmwide architecture standards.
Work you’ll do:
- Lead the design and delivery of cloud-native architectures leveraging Azure, AWS, or GCP using microservices and event-driven patterns.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures that align with business goals.
- Architect APIs and integration ecosystems using reusable design patterns (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
- Implement AI/ML models, pipelines, and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML, SageMaker) into enterprise solutions.
- Design and optimize databases for distributed systems leveraging both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Define DevOps automation and Infrastructure as Code strategies (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM).
- Contribute to architecture governance by conducting technical reviews and solution assessments.
- Evaluate and introduce emerging tools, frameworks, and GenAI accelerators to increase efficiency.
- Mentor developers and engineers, supporting design decision-making and technical troubleshooting.
Core Responsibilities – Ascend Suites Architecture Governance
- Support the end-to-end architecture governance process across Ascend Suites.
- Review architecture artifacts and identify opportunities for alignment and reuse across solutions.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of shared blueprints, frameworks, and architectural principles.
- Ensure adherence to scalability, performance, and security standards across design implementations.
- Collaborate with the Ascend Engineering Foundation (AEF) to extend and evolve common frameworks and shared services.
- Advocate for automation, DevOps, and CI/CD best practices to optimize delivery.

Innovation & Delivery Transformation includes several Mission Areas: Delivery Transformation, Innovation, Deloitte Engineering, Applied AI Strategic Growth Offering, Sustainability Strategic Growth Offering, Office of the Chief Data Officer, and Office of the Chief Technology Officer. The Delivery Transformation team drives modernization of delivery practices, leveraging agile methodologies, automation, and advanced tools to enhance efficiency and quality across client engagements.
The Delivery Transformation (DT) team sits within IDT and focuses on operationalizing innovative platforms and delivery models, such as Ascend. DT drives the integration of these solutions across our client delivery practices to help Deloitte practitioners excel in a rapidly evolving delivery landscape and deliver value to our clients faster and more efficiently.
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and designing scalable, cloud-native applications.
- Deep experience with microservices, event-driven systems, observability, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Experience with modern API design standards and integration protocols (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
- Strong understanding of Python/FastAPI or Java/Spring Boot, API design, and async/event-driven processing.
- Strong understanding of database design for high-performance SQL and NoSQL systems.
- Experience with DevOps automation, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Excellent communication and ability to lead technical discussions with business and engineering teams.
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Experience with data lake and streaming solutions (Kafka, Databricks, Snowflake).
- Knowledge of serverless and event-driven systems (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Understanding of AI-driven and predictive architectures.
- Experience with implementing RAG, embeddings, vector DBs, or agentic flows (LangChain, LangGraph).
- Exposure to API management platforms (Apigee, Kong, Azure API Management).
- Experience supporting architecture governance and solution review processes.
- Cloud or AI certifications preferred.
