Position Summary: Architect
Level: Manager or equivalent
As an Architect Manager, you will lead enterprise-level solution design of GenAI-enabled, microservices-based, event-driven across Deloitte’s cloud, AI, and data ecosystems. You’ll drive architectural governance and technology strategies across multiple suites, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment to long-term business and technology objectives.
Work you’ll do:
- Lead architecture and technical design for complex enterprise systems across cloud, AI, and data domains.
- Oversee the design and implementation of cloud-native architectures leveraging Azure, AWS, or GCP using microservices and event-driven patterns.
- Collaborate with clients, engineering, and business teams to translate strategic goals into secure, maintainable, and scalable technical designs.
- Define and enforce enterprise standards for API ecosystems, microservices, and reusable architecture components (REST, GraphQL, gRPC).
- Drive AI/ML solution design, model deployment, and data pipeline integration with enterprise platforms.
- Oversee data modeling and database architecture for distributed, high-performance systems leveraging SQL and NoSQL technologies.
- Define DevOps and automation strategies using CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation), and container orchestration.
- Provide architectural leadership, mentoring engineers, conducting design reviews, and guiding solution delivery teams.
- Govern architectural decisions across product suites, driving standardization and shared frameworks.
- Champion the integration of GenAI tools and accelerators to enhance developer productivity and solution performance.
Core Responsibilities – Ascend Suites Architecture Governance
- Design and govern the end-to-end technical architecture across Ascend Suites.
- Review suite-level architectures, tools, and technology stacks to identify opportunities for standardization and reuse.
- Define and maintain solution blueprints for common functionality and shared components.
- Establish and maintain the Ascend architecture roadmap aligned with long-term platform vision.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and security across suites through consistent architectural principles.
- Partner with the Ascend Engineering Foundation (AEF) to leverage common services, frameworks, and integration components.
- Evaluate and recommend GenAI technologies and automation opportunities to improve delivery efficiency.
- Define and govern the architecture for agentic workflows, tool integrations, and multi-agent orchestration across Ascend.
- Design RAG and retrieval patterns including chunking strategies, vector indexing, and embedding selection.
- Collaborate with Feature Owners to translate business workflows into agentic capabilities.
- Maintain architectural consistency across 50+ microservices and GenAI-powered features.
- Define standards for MCP-based tool development and A2A (agent-to-agent) communication.
- Define optimal CI/CD and infrastructure strategies to maximize resilience and operational efficiency.

The Delivery Transformation (DT) team sits within IDT and focuses on operationalizing innovative platforms and delivery models, such as Ascend. DT drives the integration of these solutions across our client delivery practices to help Deloitte practitioners excel in a rapidly evolving delivery landscape and deliver value to our clients faster and more efficiently.
Qualifications
Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- experience in architecture and solution design across multiple technology domains.
- Expert-level proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Deep understanding of full stack architectures including front-end, back-end, API, and database components.
- Deep experience with microservices, event-driven systems API ecosystems, integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, gRPC), observability, and cloud-native infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Azure ML, SageMaker) and enterprise AI integration.
- Hands-on expertise architecting GenAI or LLM-based production systems (agents, RAG, vector DBs, knowledge graph, LangChain/LangGraph).
- Strong command of security architecture including LLM safety, content filtering, secrets, mTLS, and identity patterns (OAuth2/OIDC).
- Strong database architecture skills across relational (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) and non-relational (MongoDB, Cosmos DB, DynamoDB) systems.
- Proficiency in DevOps and CI/CD automation (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Expertise in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in consulting environments.
Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:
- Knowledge of AI-driven architectures, including NLP, computer vision, and predictive analytics.
- Experience with serverless and event-driven systems (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions).
- Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as OAuth2, Zero Trust, and OpenID Connect.
- Experience with API gateway and management tools (Apigee, Kong, Azure API Management).
- Proven experience in architecture governance, solution reviews, and pre-sales engagements.
Education:
