Tableau Consultant
An Oracle BI Publisher developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining business intelligence reports and documents using Oracle BI Publisher. This role supports business decision-making by transforming raw data into actionable insights through customized reports and templates.
Work you’ll do
•Requirement Gathering:
Engage with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, clarify objectives, and document requirements.
•Translating Requirements into Technical/Functional Design:
Convert business requirements into detailed technical and functional specifications, including data mapping, report layout, and integration points
•Template Creation & Report Development:
Develop and maintain report templates using RTF, PDF, Excel, and HTML formats for dynamic and visually appealing outputs. Design, build, and optimize BI Publisher reports, dashboards, and data models based on business requirements.
•Understand Project Delivery (Waterfall/Agile):
Participate in project delivery using waterfall or agile methodologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.
•Testing and Test Support:
Develop test cases, perform unit and integration testing of reports, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure accuracy and quality.
•Data Integration:
Connect BI Publisher to various data sources (Oracle databases, web services, spreadsheets) and ensure accurate data extraction and transformation
•Performance Optimization:
Monitor and enhance report performance, ensuring efficient data processing and timely delivery.
•Security & Compliance:
Implement data security protocols and maintain compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Required:
•Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in Oracle BI Publisher, SQL, familiarity with XML & XSLT and data modelling concepts. Experienced in BI publisher bursting & scheduling. Strong SQL skills and experience working with Oracle databases.
•Report Design:
Experience with RTF templates, XML data sources, and integration with Oracle E-Business Suite or Fusion Applications.
•Analytical Thinking:
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
•Communication:
Effective verbal and written communication for requirement gathering and user support.
•Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; 3+ years of experience with Oracle BI Publisher or similar reporting tools.
