ANTI-CORRUPTION & TRADE (ACT) THIRD PARTY DUE DILIGENCE ASSISTANT MANAGER

The Team

The Anti-Corruption & Trade (ACT) group establishes awareness, processes, and controls to support the Deloitte U.S. Firms’ compliance with applicable Anti-Corruption, trade, and economic sanctions regulations.

In Hyderabad, the ACT team is part of Risk & Brand Protection, which is responsible for internal strategic, regulatory, risk and compliance driven activities. These activities include managing risk and maintaining databases for compliance monitoring functions.

As an Assistant Manager with ACT, you will work with a network of firm leaders, engagement teams, and third-party representatives to help the firm and its employees to adhere to guidelines established by the government and other agencies that the firm is required to follow.

With ACT you will:

  • Support various tasks related to the U.S. Firms’ Anti-Corruption Compliance Program
  • Assist with certain aspects of Anti-Corruption due diligence, monitoring, and reporting requirements, and general project management
  • Analyze and remediate adverse information on various third parties and potential business partners identified through due diligence databases, such as Lexis Nexis World Compliance and Factiva
  • Perform research on third parties and potential business partners to contextualize the adverse information identified during the diligence process and its prospective risk to the Deloitte U.S. Firms in order to make initial recommendations
  • Support sanctions-related policies and screening compliance, including remediating screening results

Responsibilities

  • Gain comprehensive understanding of the Deloitte U.S. Firms’ Anti-Corruption and Trade policies and guidelines, and a working knowledge and proficiency in various Anti-Corruption compliance processes and monitoring functions
  • Conduct detailed research using watchlist databases, proprietary commercial databases, and online resources, summarizing findings and proposing next steps in a concise and effective manner
  • Identify and mitigate compliance risks, thus enhancing compliance monitoring efforts and fostering a compliance culture
  • Proactively troubleshoot issues and exercise discretion when management support may be necessary to resolve an issue
  • Review deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with team and firm best practices, including adherence to templates and guidelines
  • Oversee and review work performed by a team of analysts, who identify potential “red flags” and make initial recommendations on risk to the firm and the business relationship; train and mentor the analysts to conduct research and effectively summarize findings
  • Provide timely, detailed, insightful feedback on team members’ due diligence reviews and analysis, client interactions, writing and document organization
  • Assist with performance evaluation of team members and recognize them with timely rewards
  • Assist with recruiting, engaging, and motivating team members
  • Gather statistics and develop reports for ACT management team to monitor task completion and issues affecting project and task timelines
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing among US and US India (USI) team members
  • Effectively communicate and collaboratively with colleagues in the U.S., USI and other Deloitte U.S. Firm locations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the compliance programs

Key Skills

  • Ability to provide useful and effective training, feedback and guidance to junior staff
  • Ability to constructively solicit and be receptive to feedback from supervisors and colleagues and stretch oneself to learn new skills for overall development
  • Ability to develop and follow directions with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate/MBA in Business, Strategy, Operations, Finance or Banking
  • 5-8 years of experience in screening due diligence research, compliance, risk assessments, investigations, or relevant experience in Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Corruption Compliance, Third Party Due Diligence
  • Experience with a global professional services firm or working with virtual teams may be an advantage

Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11 AM to 8 PM or 2 PM to 11 PM ( As per Business Requirement)
