Senior Analyst – Secretarial and Legal - The Office of General Counsel (OGC)

Work you’ll do

The position holder will be primarily responsible for providing support with  a variety of regulatory and secretarial compliance, litigation, contracts, labour, industrial, and legal issues in multiple Indian states with varying levels of complexity to successful completion.  The position will also involve providing support for compliance activities, and preforming research and risk analysis.

Responsibilities include

  • Review and ensure that all transactions of the companies are within the ambit of the applicable laws.
  • Well versed in Indian company law, contract, labor laws, secretarial practices, corporate laws, and regulatory compliances.
  • Well versed with Secretarial Compliances and Company law.
  • Well versed with completion and filing of returns/ documents with ROC, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Indian regulatory authorities.
  • Support the lead in interactions with Indian statutory authorities, Registrar of Companies, Company Law Board, Foreign Investment Promotion Board, Customs and Excise Departments, Reserve Bank of India, etc.
  • Research changes/amendments in various applicable Indian regulations and laws and keep OGC updated on these amendments and their implications for the USI companies.
  • Must have awareness/ knowledge of all applicable Indian laws, including those related to technology and ITES companies in India.
  • An up-to-date knowledge of all Indian commercial, secretarial, corporate, industrial, labor and mercantile laws. Possesses drafting skills for corporate compliance, litigation, secretarial issues and other legal documentation.
  • Can perform routine company law work with minimal direct supervision.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The team

Office of General Counsel is responsible for managing the Deloitte US India Offices legal affairs as they relate to firm governance, contracts, engagements, employment, litigation and regulatory matters, legal risks, and other legal matters.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Hold a law degree from an accredited law school in India, and a certified Company Secretary, registered with the Indian Institute of Company Secretaries in India with an experience of 3 to 5 years.  
  • Experience with Microsoft tools is expected: Office –MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Outlook

Preferred:

  • Experience in advising on legal and secretarial matters

Preferred Certifications:

·        LLB – Law Degree and Company Secretary
