Enabling Senior Manager - Global Contract Management

Deloitte’s Global Operate team is seeking a Senior Manager to support the enhancement of our Operate contracting and contract management practices globally. This role will play an integral part of our organization's success in standardization, strategy, and operations for Operate contracting and contract management. Staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends, you will support the implementation of innovative practices and benchmarking exercises to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

As a member of the Global Operate Commercial and Contracting COE, you will provide project management expertise and support the development of deliverables for a variety of internal audiences, including Global Businesses, Deloitte Firms, and the Global Operate Council to engage, inspire and motivate people to embrace the significant changes that are required to achieve our ambition.

Work you’ll do

As a Senior Manager, Contract Management, you will be at the forefront of Deloitte's Operate business, playing a pivotal role in managing contracting operations and driving the success of our global contract management service center. You will lead a talented contract management team responsible for providing support for Operate contracts, all while ensuring compliance and mitigating risks. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a rapidly expanding business, where your leadership and strategic insights will be key to our continued success. Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Lead the contract management team, review workload, and assign tasks providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for internal clients, such as project managers, engagement leaders, Quality and Risk Leaders, or legal departments, regarding contract management matters. This includes understanding their requirements, providing guidance, and addressing any concerns or issues they may have.
  • Play a crucial role in promoting the contract management service center and its value to internal stakeholders. This includes showcasing the benefits, efficiency, and expertise of the service center to increase awareness and encourage utilization.
  • Develop and implement contract management strategies to optimize contract performance and mitigate risks, including providing guidance on approaches to reducing and managing risks associated with specified opportunities and as may be identified in the review of contracts.
  • Coordinate with QRM/OGC/risk managers or other Deloitte firm functions in connection with cross-member firm/business opportunities to ensure a seamless risk management experience for the engagement team.
  • Provide contract management support to Deloitte firms (e.g., contract query support, contract summaries, obligations management, change order preparations, etc.) to complex contracts.
  • Responsible for QA reviews of deliverables produced by team members and building a culture of quality in the service center.
  • Responsible for identifying and escalating any critical issues or challenges identified or escalated by team members. This involves promptly notifying relevant stakeholders and working towards resolution.
  • Liaise with global teams and internal clients to address contract-related issues and provide proactive support issues and improve contract management processes.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of core professional services (IT, managed services, outsourcing) and product offerings to continue supporting contracting and risk matters in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Provide mentoring and training to risk management colleagues and to a broader audience to enhance knowledge of and compliance with firm policies, templates, and processes.
  • Proactively pursue, assess, and, where appropriate, advance firm initiatives, including the areas of software, cloud, data analytics, operate services, and privacy and security.
  • Support strategic initiatives pertaining to the development/updating of processes, tools, and templates to improve overall risk management and contracting practices and to help adoption of such processes, tools, and templates.
Requirement:

The ideal candidate is a seasoned contract management professional with extensive experience in professional services contracting and a deep understanding of risk management. You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record of influencing diverse stakeholders and driving common outcomes. Your leadership skills are outstanding, and you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You are passionate about contract management and are eager to contribute to the growth and success of the Operate business.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, law, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Qualifications in contract management and/or project management, are a plus
Work experience:
  • Overall 15+ years of experience with 10+ years of experience in contract management or related fields
  • Extensive experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts
  • Experience in managing contracts, project management and/or in developing/ implementing learning and training initiatives, is a plus

Skills and capabilities:
  • Strong understanding of professional services contracting life cycle with an emphasis on technology services
  • Deep understanding of risk associated with the delivery of professional consulting services and an ability to identify specific approaches to a variety of such risks
  • Proven track record influencing a diverse set of stakeholders and driving common outcomes with a strong understanding of commercial contracting practices including terms and conditions
  • Outstanding verbal/written communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills in an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
  • Excellent leadership skills including the ability to prioritize critical needs, act decisively, and handle a high volume of complex tasks within a given timeframe
  • Experience in reviewing and revising scope of work documents with a focus on incorporating actionable and measurable guidance to address specific risks around delivery execution
  • Proven willingness to listen and learn and consistently record of making and explaining appropriate decisions, even when this leads to tough business decisions
  • Knowledge of contract management software such as ServiceNow and Contract Lifecycle Management software
  • Experience with AI technologies such as GenAI
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
