Assistant Manager, Copywriter - Account Based Marketing

Deloitte is looking for an Assistant Manager / Copywriter with a strong portfolio of innovative, high-impact marketing campaigns. You’ll collaborate with our US and India-based teams, including creative directors, designers, digital producers, and strategists, to create content and campaigns that engage clients and build the Deloitte brand.

The team   

The Communications is a team of professionals who specialize in Advertising, Marketing, Internal Communications, Public Relations and Communication Technology. The team reinforces the culture and brand of Deloitte internally and builds our external reputation – intervening where necessary. They also play the role of a strategic and trusted business advisor for leaders and ensure that professionals are equipped with the right information in a timely manner to excel at work and enjoy well-being. Other priorities include creating an open and transparent environment for leadership communications, leveraging internal channels creatively, effectively disseminating information and measuring the impact of communications. 

Work you’ll do:  

As an assistant manager copywriter, you will support the account-based marketing team by writing creative content that moves our clients and prospects to action including: emails, social posts, digital display ads, landing pages, and business copy, as well as translating persona and audience strategies into content that moves our target buyers through the marketing funnel. You will distill complex business language into clear, simple language that customers will understand and connect with. 

The successful candidate will possess:   

  • Write original and engaging copy that includes ability to develop creative headlines and own a conversational style of writing that speaks to the reader 
  • Edit copy for campaign assets, including marketing collateral, advertisements, web copy, social media, and email. 
  • Collaborate with marketers, art directors, designers, and strategists to develop creative concepts and assets that engage users. 
  • Don’t just write. Be a strategic advisor to senior marketers and client service practitioners, helping to clarify business objectives, define key messages, present ideas, make recommendations, and differentiate Deloitte. 
  • Be an expert in Deloitte’s content marketing strategy, brand guidelines, style guide, and content typology.
  • Take the lead in presenting creative concepts and copy to internal teams. Proactively manage client revisions and reviews. 
  • Review content for grammar, punctuation, readability, flow, and style; Rigorously proofread and edit every piece of work to deliver the highest-quality deliverables.
  • Be a self-starter who is good at being organized, juggling multiple priorities, and responsible in an autonomous virtual setting
  • Strong attention to detail, adherence to prescribed timelines and quick turn around on deliverables will be critical 
  • Understanding the Agile methodology of work would be an added advantage 

Qualifications:  

  • Post Graduate degree in Advertising, Marketing is preferred 
  • Minimum 6-8 years of relevant work experience, ideally in an ad agency environment or a corporate in-house agency, copywriting and collaborating to produce a wide range of advertising and marketing communications assets.
  • Strong portfolio of relevant work required, demonstrating superior copywriting skills and marketing impact for a variety of channels such as social media, emails, ads, etc. (provide portfolio password if required) 
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability to balance innovative approaches with business objectives. 
  • Clear, concise writer who can distill complex ideas into easily understood language. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to juggle multiple projects and manage competing priorities and tight deadlines. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with senior leaders and highly intellectual thinkers. 
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills. 
  • Experience with B2B or professional services (consulting) industry or Advertising preferred, with an understanding of brand voice, target personas, and stages of the marketing funnel 
  • Foundational knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) principles to apply to copywriting webpages
  • Strong English oral and written communication skills 

Preferred: 

  • Understanding of Agile methodology
  • Experience in Workfront or similar project management programs
  • Familiarity with account-based marketing in professional services
  • Experience of having worked with a global organization or large-scale marketing projects, preferred
