Position Summary

SAP FI+Tax Engine-Vertex - Tax Technology Services Consultant II

Join Deloitte’s Tax Technology Consulting practice in India and help global clients modernize and transform their tax operations. This role focuses on delivering technology-enabled indirect tax solutions that improve compliance, reporting, and business process integration across complex ERP environments. You will work with cross-functional teams and multinational stakeholders to implement scalable tax engine and SAP finance solutions that support evolving business and regulatory needs.

Work you'll do

As a Senior, Tax Technology Services on the Tax Technology Consulting team, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of indirect tax technology solutions within SAP or Oracle enterprise resource planning environments
  • Configuring and integrating OneSource Indirect Tax Determination or Vertex O Series with SAP Finance and related Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report processes
  • Designing, testing, and deploying tax determination configurations, content updates, and configuration migrations for global and North American business requirements
  • Developing and supporting SAP forms, reports, customizations, and service level agreement rules to address indirect tax process needs
  • Preparing client demos, status updates, and project deliverables while managing multiple workstreams and timelines

The team

Deloitte’s Tax Technology Consulting team helps organizations transform tax operations through the use of enterprise technology, automation, and scalable process design. The team works at the intersection of tax, finance, and technology to support implementation of indirect tax solutions that align with client business requirements. Professionals in this group collaborate across global teams to deliver practical, technology-enabled outcomes for complex tax environments.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in enterprise resource planning implementation or support in SAP or Oracle environments
  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience with OneSource Indirect Tax Determination or Vertex O Series
  • Experience integrating Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, and Record-to-Report processes with SAP Finance and third-party tax engines
  • Experience configuring OneSource Indirect Tax Determination or Vertex O Series for indirect tax calculation
  • Experience supporting indirect tax requirements for value-added tax, sales tax, or use tax
  • Experience developing SAP forms, reports, or customizations
  • Experience creating client demonstrations, presentations, or ad hoc materials for stakeholder audiences

Preferred:

  • Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA with OneSource Indirect Tax Determination using Global Next or with Vertex O Series using Vertex Indirect Tax Accelerator
  • Experience with native SAP indirect tax configuration
  • Experience with testing tools, content updates, and configuration migration within OneSource or Vertex
  • Experience with Vertex CFA
  • Experience with defect management, documentation, user support, and enhancement delivery across the project lifecycle
  • Experience with indirect tax reporting in SAP
