About the team:
Deloitte’s Commercial Office supports the firm’s largest Pursuits, MSA’s/ Panel agreements, and challenged engagements, while also growing commercial acumen across the firm. Achieving optimal commercial outcomes is of paramount importance for the firm in what is a very competitive market for professional services. The Commercial Office provides support to facilitate these outcomes, embedding best practices and tailoring commercial constructs to emphasize the value of the firm’s diverse suite of services.
Position Summary and Key responsibilities:
As a Senior Commercial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the pricing and commercial strategies of large, complex deals across our Advisory, Implement, and Operate Services. The role includes responsibility for supporting key new business outcomes through:
• Completing quantitative and qualitative reviews to analyze the costing and pricing of our large, complex deals and to prepare advice and recommendations in relation to business quality.
• Develop and present commercial decision support information for internal consensus, e.g., Deal P&L and Cash Flow analyses, sensitivity, and scenario analysis, etc.
• Analyze and evaluate commercial models to ensure alignment with business objectives and market conditions.
• Working with bid team/ sales to support the development of client proposal pricing and commercial responses.
• Support the development of client business cases on large and complex deals.
• Experience working on various pricing constructs Fixed Fee, Time & Material, value-based pricing etc. Identify and assess risks associated with various pricing constructs and commercial models, providing recommendations for mitigation.
• Perform cost-volume-profit and related analysis.
• Perform detailed financial analysis to support pricing decisions and commercial model development.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback, ensuring the commercial pursuits align with client needs and expectations.
• Identify process improvements, implement best practices, and stay updated on industry trends to refine strategies.
• Develop and refine commercial tools, methods, and guidance materials.
• Support the stakeholder community in the use of enabling tools and methods.
Qualifications/Skills Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in any field, Advanced degree (MBA) or relevant certifications.
• 4-6 years in pricing, financial modeling, or strategy consulting. Demonstrable experience gained within a commercial/ financial modelling and analysis or similar role, preferably in a Professional Services, Business Advisory, or B2B managed services business.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
• Analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficient in financial modelling with advanced MS Excel skills with experience in building pricing/ financial planning or scenario analysis tools.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and adaptable to evolving business needs.
• Confident presentation skills using both oral and written communications.
• Proven ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members.
Preferred Skills
• Demonstrated experience with various pricing constructs, including Fixed Fee, Time & Material, and value-based pricing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Proven track record of supporting successful commercial pursuits.
