Key Responsibilities of Deputy Manager
- Cost and Revenue Accounting & Analysis:
Revenue Accounting Operations
- Supervise End-to-End Process: Oversee the full revenue accounting cycle, ensuring timely revenue recognition and thorough reconciliations. Also, responsible for expense analysis.
- Journal & Reconciliation Review: Review and validate journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis prepared by team members.
- Variance Analysis: Investigate and provide explanations for expense and revenue variances, trends, and discrepancies.
Reporting & Insights
- Management Reporting: Prepare management reports and revenue dashboards, highlighting key insights, emerging risks, and business implications.
- Business Partnering: Serve as a key point of contact between the revenue accounting team and other business units for ongoing communication and collaboration.
Team Leadership & Development
- Task Allocation: Allocate tasks and manage workload distribution to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
Controls, Compliance & Audit Support
- Internal Controls: Assess and strengthen internal control procedures for expense and revenue accounting processes.
- Audit Support: Support both internal and external audits by preparing and providing requested documentation, explanations, and clarifications.
- Compliance Management: Ensure all expense and revenue accounting activities comply with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
Process Improvement & Change Management
- Continuous Improvement: Identify, propose, and drive implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to increase accuracy and efficiency.
- Regulatory Monitoring: Stay current with changes in relevant regulations and proactively advise management on impacts and necessary updates to revenue recognition practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting, Finance/CA Inter/ Qualified CWA/ Qualified CMA
- 9-11 years’ experience in revenue accounting, General ledger Accounting, audit, or financial analysis, with 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role
- Strong proficiency with Excel and ERP- SAP
- Proven people management abilities and leadership skills
- Exemplary analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
