Cost and Revenue Accounting Assistant Manager Job Description:
- Oversee revenue accounting activities: Support the accurate and timely revenue recognition and reconciliation processes. Also, responsible for expense analysis.
- Review financial work: Assess journals, reconciliations, and account analyses prepared by the revenue accounting team.
- Analyze revenue variances: Investigate and explain fluctuations, trends, and discrepancies related to revenue and cost.
- Prepare reports and dashboards: Develop management reports and visual dashboards to highlight key revenue insights and associated risks.
- Task allocation: Assist in ensuring efficient workload distribution within the team to achieve deliverables.
- Team training support: Support onboarding and ongoing training of team members on expense and revenue recognition policies and best practices.
- Internal controls: Help evaluate and improve procedures and controls governing revenue accounting.
- Process improvement: Contribute to identifying and implementing automation and process improvement initiatives.
- Audit support: Assist with internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance: Maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Stay current: Keep updated on emerging regulations and support communication of changes affecting revenue recognition.
- Liaison role: Act as a reliable point of contact for cross-functional teams and business units regarding revenue accounting matters.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/master’s degree in accounting, Finance, or CA Inter/ICWA qualified/ CMA qualified
- 7-9 years’ experience in expense and revenue accounting, general ledger, audit, or financial analysis, including experience in a supporting or senior team member capacity; prior exposure to leadership or mentorship is a plus.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems, especially SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
