The Centre of Excellence (CoE) team in Hyderabad plays a pivotal role in driving Deloitte Australia’s success by delivering support across a range of functions. There are 6 distinct CoEs empowering various capabilities—including Reporting & Analytics, Finance, Quality & Risk, IT Services, Marketing, and Talent—ensuring seamless operations and strategic advancement.

Within the Quality & Risk (Q&R) CoE, dedicated sub-teams deliver targeted services such as reporting analytics, Partner Dashboard support, comprehensive due diligence for engagements and clients, conflict management, Personal Independence & Risk Solutions at green dot level.

Q&R NZ

The team “Quality and Risk” helps you find information about identifying, mitigating, and responding to risk. To maintain Independence and to act with integrity and objectivity, including being free of any conflicts of interest. Maintaining the Independence of the Deloitte entities and its professionals, and proactively identifying and managing potential conflicts of interest as part of the client / engagement acceptance process, the team helps Deloitte, its professionals, and its clients protect, preserve, and enhance their reputations.

Work you will do

DESC:

• Review, monitor, and ensure the timely completion of entity updates in DESC including its client corporate entity trees

• Support the internal clients by providing information on operational matters related to DESC and SRM processes

• Review and monitor service requests in SRM to ensure approval/decisions are obtain on a timely manner

• Assist in prepare timelines and draft reports during periodic review and other requirements of Global, as necessary (eg. verification process)

• Assist in handling critical/complex cases and identifying risks/challenges that needs escalate with DESC Manager/Senior Manager

• Assist in monitoring aging items identified in the DESC Dashboard on a weekly and monthly basis

• Suggest ways to improve efficiency of process and turnaround time

• Able to handle questions and guide the team and/or internal stakeholders on applicable process and policies independently

• Demonstrates consistent optimism and commitment towards work challenges

Inspection & Testing:

• Participate in the Partner and Manager Personal Independence testing which is undertaken each year in accordance with the global independence timetable.

• Assist with Personal independence queries and GIMS related queries on a day-to-day basis.

• Assist with sample selection of the Personal Independence testing process.

• Manage and Apply for any GIMS waivers and extensions for Partners invested in restricted entities.

• Assist with the Quarterly and Annual Independence confirmation process.

• Ensure all testing documents are up to date and include all new questions as released by Global.

Monitoring and other:

• Business relationship – independence monitoring. Confirming ongoing BRs are not independence impairing.

• Conducting Business relationship testing.

• Assist with new firm business acquisitions / disposals as required.

• Participate in ad-hoc independence projects as and when required

• Ensuring that all local and cross border Independence processes are undertaken and recorded as per global policy in alignment with international and local rules and regulations

• Understanding of the New Zealand, OAG, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL) independence rules, including their application to the New Zealand geography

• Ensures all New Zealand Independence polices, and processes are current and in accordance with global rules.

• Attend all global conference calls as required

Conflicts: (Conflicts Management)

• Understanding and implementing Deloitte global policies and guidance relating to Conflicts

• Developing and maintaining relationships with the firm’s service lines risk teams and other member firm conflict teams.

• Search various databases to understand if we have existing client relationships that can give rise to a conflict with a new proposal. Search web sites for information about corporate affiliations (such as parent/subsidiary).

• Assist NZ proposal teams to perform an inter conflict check with the applicable foreign Member Firms. Get trained and support the process of sending cross border checks to the foreign Member Firms via DCCS (Deloitte Conflict Checking System) and ensure that you are following up on outstanding responses on a timely basis.

• Apply judgment to understand DCCS search matches and to distinguish relevant search matches from those that are irrelevant. Accumulate the search results, analyze, and conclude on approving a new DCCS request.

• Strong attention to details in researching online company research databases such as Factiva, Hoovers, and other third-party data providers.

• Identifying any risks involved and communicating this information to the business before the engagement process is initiated with the client.

• Ensure that approval process is accurately identified, and the information is passed on to the business.

• Maintain high level of professionalism in communicating directly with NZ proposal teams as well as foreign Member Firm contacts

• Have an understanding, preferred experience of secondary market research and common tools used to determine the search results

• Adaptable to learn new processes, concepts, and skills

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

• Timely delivery of work with no/minimal errors

• Respond to and/or elevate all queries and issues within 24 hours or within any other TAT specified by business

• To support in ad-hoc projects assigned and on time completion of the same

• Proactive in all the communication-Ability to document and communicate the results of research/reviews in an efficient and effective manner, using language and style suitable for clients, Partners and all levels and positions of Deloitte personnel

• Team playing & communications – interacts constructively with team members in order to contribute towards the achievement of common goals. Provides well thought-out, concise and timely oral and written communication

• Ability to analyze detailed scope of services and Deloitte’s role in the entire engagement

Qualifications

Required

• Graduate/PostGraduate with an overall 4+ years of experience in market/financial research

Preferred

• Strong attention to details in researching online company research data bases, such as, Factiva, Hoovers, and third-party database and websites.

• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to confidently communicate with Deloitte professionals including Partners, Principals, and Managing Directors (PPMDs).

• Strong organizational skills demonstrated by ability to organize and maintain several key responsibilities at once, while managing ad hoc requests

• Ability to present ideas and business recommendations for the continuous improvement of processes

• Ability to identify team member strengths and improvement areas and provide detailed feedback plan for continued development

• Project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects and tasks within tight deadlines

Work Location: Hyderabad

Shift Timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM (flexibility needed to address business needs)
