The team
The Centre of Excellence (CoE) team in Hyderabad plays a pivotal role in driving Deloitte Australia’s success by delivering support across a range of functions. There are 6 distinct CoEs empowering various capabilities—including Reporting & Analytics, Finance, Quality & Risk, IT Services, Marketing, and Talent— ensuring seamless operations and strategic advancement.
Within the Quality & Risk (Q&R) CoE, dedicated sub-teams deliver targeted services such as reporting analytics, Partner Dashboard support, comprehensive due diligence for engagements and clients, conflict management, and Personal Independence & Risk Solutions at green dot level.

Work you will do
Q&R - Independence Operations role involves assisting engagement teams in managing their objectivity obligations, early detection, prevention and management of risks, potential conflicts of interest, independence implications and threat to Brand when entering new business and financial relationships and as an ongoing part of any engagement.
· Understand policies, code of ethics, professional standards and apply the knowledge to matters that arise, propose resolution to exceptions in timely manner.
· Review of Engagement letters/ Scope of services, Project documents, RFPs, RFQs to ascertain data, potential parties to engagement and implications of proposed work on existing clients, Engagements and other relevant parties.
· Prepare and circulate appropriate communication to impacted parties, LCSPs, Member firms.
· Monitor responses and summarize the issues for further consultation with Partners, Director of Independence.
· Collaborate with Client facing engagement teams, Partners and cross-member firms across the globe.
· Advising professionals on personal independence matters - financial arrangements, employment and personal relationships to ensure no breaches of applicable policies.
· Assisting business teams with evaluating Client independence - advise on provision of non-audit services to audit clients, major audit tenders, firm transactions and establishing appropriate business relationships.
Key tasks include -
• Identifying and mitigating potential conflicts of interests with proposed engagement opportunities relating to Audit & Assurance
· Maintenance of Entity tree database with up-to-date information of Designated Clients, Business Partners, Vendors and affiliate entities
· Assessment of Third parties and Vendor relationships for mitigating potential independence issues before accepting Business Relationships and Vendors arrangements.
• Auditing of PPMDs investments and their professional associations to ensure compliance with firm's independence policies.
• Engagement Acceptance Testing
Key Skills Required
· Able to manage various work deliverables and tasks, work independently once trained and demonstrate strong attention to detail
· Strong research skills using online company research databases such as ASIC, Ilion, OneSource, Factiva, Hoovers, and other financial websites
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially in documenting the work performed and outcomes of independence checks
· Able to work autonomously once trained, and can demonstrate the ability to apply what has been learnt in a consistent way
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Good analytical and comprehension skills
· Able to follow documented processes, including responding to and/or elevating all queries and issues within 24 hours or within any other TAT specified by business
· To support in ad-hoc projects assigned and on time completion of the same
· Team player with a positive and cooperative attitude
· Personal development – is committed to self-development, seeking to understand own strengths and weaknesses, has self-confidence, able to receive constructive feedback and has a strong work ethic
· Good excel and computer skills
Preferred Skills
· MBA, PG/Graduates (pref. commerce), CA/CS (Inter) with 2 to 4 years of experience in financial research or market research, experience with online business information research tools
Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 6.30 AM to 3.30 PM (flexibility needed to address business needs)
