GPO Global Test Team – Finance Test Lead (Asst. Manager/ Deputy Manager)

Global Finance Services (GFS) is Deloitte’s global organization that uses the latest generation SAP S4 technology to provide several participating member firms with a fully managed finance shared service (as of December 2020, those member firms are: US, UK, Canada, Australia, and North South Europe (Ireland and Netherlands)). This effort is part of the SWIFT program, a multi-year finance transformation program globally.

The Global Process Owner (GPO) Center of Excellence (CoE) supports and maintains the integrity of the global SAP S4 template functionality and processes with a focus on further globalization and standardization. Appropriate governance and integration with Member Firm priorities needs to be delivered as the template grows and evolves through future deployments and advancements to the template.

Work you’ll do

In this visible and interesting role, you’ll work with a team that collaborates with the Global Test Lead, member firm (MF) business leaders, and the S4 Technology Team (STT) to test enhancements to the S4 platform with a business end-user focus on front-office business, or Client to Cash (CTC), and other related processes

Responsibilities and Duties:

·       Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of software testers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure their professional growth and effective performance.

·       Test Strategy Development: Create, implement, and continuously improve test strategies, methodologies, and processes to achieve optimal test coverage and product quality.

·       Project Planning and Execution: Collaborate with project managers, development teams, and other stakeholders to plan test schedules, resources, and deliverables. Ensure timely and efficient execution of testing phases within project timelines.

·       Quality Assurance Oversight: Oversee all aspects of quality assurance, including test planning, test case development, execution, and defect tracking. Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices.

·       Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks in the testing process and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project impacts.

·       Tool and Technology Evaluation: Research, evaluate, and implement testing tools and technologies to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

·       Reporting and Documentation: Generate comprehensive reports on testing progress, issues, and results. Maintain detailed documentation of test plans, test cases, and test results for future reference.

·       Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration among cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on testing goals, priorities, and outcomes.

The Team

The GPO Global Testing Team supports the GPO CoE’s strategic goal of “Assurance of Delivered Solutions” to the S/4 platform and enable increased business process efficiencies, agility, and controls. Their objective is to test the S/4 platform enhancements and ensure it is in accordance with the global template design, accurate, and valid.

To achieve these objectives:

  • Collaborate with the member firms to both understand their business processes and provide assurance of the testing quality.
  • Work hand-in-hand with our technology partners (STT) to validate the quality of enhancements and reach the common goal of having a well-designed financial system.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 7+ years of related professional service experience.

·       Must exhibit an understanding of engagement financials.

  • SAP or ERP experience required in core Finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, share results, and communicate openly.
  • Ability to recognize the important concept/item/test result needed and can communicate what the result of the test should be.
  • Lateral and creative thinking skills – ask investigative questions of the business requirements to determine results meet expectations (or not)
  • Macro-level of understanding of the business processes with the ability to fill in for a team member if an urgent testing scenario.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, navigate complex organizations, and build relationships with MF business leadership, STT, and GFS
  • Ability to work under constantly changing conditions and tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with business leaders.
  • Demonstrated experience of working across cultures and countries and a working knowledge of communication/engagement styles

Certifications:

  • Certification in software testing (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Other Details:

·       Location – Hyderabad, India (2-11 PM)

·       Work schedule will flex with business needs and deployment country being serviced.
