Deloitte Tax Services India Private Limited (“USI Tax”) commenced operations in June 2004. Since then, nearly all the Deloitte Tax LLP (“Deloitte Tax”) U.S. service lines have obtained support services through the teams in USI Tax teams.
Deloitte Tax is leading its clients through the tax transformation taking place in the marketplace, offering a broad range of fully integrated tax services by combining technology and tax technical resources to comply with reporting requirements, uncover insights and deploy smarter approaches for navigating an increasingly complex global environment.
Work you’ll do
Key Responsibilities as a Data Engineer. You may assist and support Deloitte Tax in:
ü Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from various sources to prepare it for analysis.
ü Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and insights using statistical techniques.
ü Assist in building, testing, and validating basic predictive models and machine learning algorithms under supervision.
ü Generate data visualizations (charts, graphs, dashboards) to communicate findings to team members and stakeholders.
ü Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and workflows for ongoing analytics projects.
ü Document data sources, methodologies, and analytical processes to ensure transparency and reproducibility.
ü Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., business analysts, IT, data engineers) to understand project requirements and deliver actionable insights.
ü Prepare and present summary reports of analytical results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
ü Stay updated with emerging data science tools, techniques, and best practices through continuous learning.
ü Ensure data privacy and security standards are maintained throughout all analytical processes.
ü Leverage automation, cognitive and AI based solutions to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
Qualifications and Requirements for assistance and support to Deloitte Tax:
ü Full-time Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) or equivalent in Computer Science (CSE) or Data Science or Artificial Intelligence with minimum of 60% or equivalent CGPA in the results notified as on date of application.
ü Knowledge of data science theory, techniques and tools and experience working with large disparate data sets.
ü 3 - 6 years of hands-on experience in DBMS concepts, SQL, and PL/SQL with good knowledge of Snowflake and/or Databricks.
ü Awareness of big data technologies (Databricks, Snowflake,Spark) and/or computer clusters
ü Awareness of standard analytical tech stacks (Jupyter Notebooks, Azure, AWS, PyTorch, R, etc.)
ü Strong programming skills in one or more languages commonly used in data science, such as Python, and a solid understanding of database concepts (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB).
ü Strong communication skills and the ability to present findings in an understandable manner to a non-technical audience
ü Clearly explain thought processes and understand instructions, while actively seeking clarification when needed
ü Knowledge about the applications of statistics, analytical methods, and large language models (LLMs) and AI would be considered a plus
ü Ability to perform data intensive tasks and be skilled in organizing the data for reporting requirements
ü Ability to work independently and as part of a team with professionals at all level
