Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, you will be accountable for, but not limited to the responsibilities below.
Operational
· Supports strategic initiatives and provides direction for Tier 1 & 2 staff
· Develops work processes, Playbooks and SOP’s
· Works cohesively and directly with the Manager and upwards management
· Provides direction and guidance to Tier 1 & 2 staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
· Understands the depth & breadth of the business and marketplace trends.
· Keeps abreast of current trends in the market and demonstrates in-depth knowledge.
· Research industry best practices and applies them at work to create an impact.
· Self-accountable, proactively seeks feedback, and informs relevant stakeholders on progress.
· Understands objectives, key areas of responsibility, and delivers within timelines.
· Communicates broader business objectives and desired outcomes to guide the work of others.
· Works closely with the Manager and senior management to ensure cohesive operations and strategic alignment.
· Ensures a seamless transition of new processes to the team by conducting thorough evaluations and assessments
· Collaborates with various stakeholders to drive process efficiency
· Actively represent in the CAB & Project calls
Technical Responsibilities:
· Design and deploy comprehensive monitoring solutions using Dynatrace, ensuring full-stack visibility across applications, infrastructure, and services.
· Develop and maintain Chef cookbooks/recipes to automate server provisioning, configuration, and application deployment.
· Implement infrastructure changes using Chef, ensuring consistency and repeatability across environments.
· Use Chef InSpec to automate compliance checks and remediate configuration drift.
· Integrate Chef automation with CI/CD pipelines and other DevOps tools for streamlined, reliable deployments.
· Architect observability solutions to address the gaps in order to reduce organizational MTTD and MTTR objectives.
· Analyze performance data, identify bottlenecks, and recommend optimizations to enhance system reliability and user experience.
· Configure intelligent alerting, automate incident detection, and lead root cause analysis leveraging Dynatrace’s AI capabilities.
· Develop automation, processes, and tools designed to make our services simpler and more robust
· Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities
· Advise management on service onboarding strategies and execution
· Build and maintain dashboards to visualize key metrics for technical and business stakeholders, enabling data-driven decisions.
· Reduce downtime and improve user experience through proactive monitoring and automated remediation.
· Minimize manual intervention, accelerate deployments, and reduce errors with Chef-driven automation.
· Identify resource inefficiencies and optimize costs through observability and automation.
· Leverage Dynatrace’s AI for predictive analytics and automated anomaly detection.
· Develop automation scripts that autonomously detect and remediate issues, enabling self-healing infrastructure.
· Build automated compliance frameworks that adapt to changing regulations and environments.
· Envision and implement workflows where Dynatrace alerts automatically trigger Chef scripts for remediation, moving toward autonomous operations.
· Understanding of observability dimensions(Metrics, logs, traces)
· Participating in collaborative projects with software engineering and Developers teams
· Development experience, comfortable working in multiple languages(Python, Java, Go and Ruby a plus)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience:
· 7+ years of Dynatrace Administration
· 5+ Configuration Management tools experience with Puppet, Chef, SaltStack
· Experience working in distributed remote teams across multiple time zones
· Experience in large-scale operations environments
· 5+ years of experience with Linux/Windows development or systems administration
· Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
· Experience working in collaborative coding environments (peer review, continuous integration, etc.)
Work Location: Hyderabad
Shift Timings: 11AM – 8PM / 2PM – 11PM IST or as needed
