Intern – Regulatory and Legal Support

As an intern, you will get opportunities to work with a diverse teams of professionals across a variety of risk domains, who are helping global organizations manage their enterprise risks. You will provide consultative services and assist our clients in solving real business problems related to risk and thereby add value. In the process, you will gain exposure to the challenges in a range of industry sectors and become client-centric risk management professionals who make an impact on our clients’ businesses every day.

Work you will do

As an intern with the Regulatory & Legal Support team, you will have the opportunity to help solve problems across multiple areas within Deloitte Risk and Financial Advisory practice. You will partner with other Deloitte professionals to analyze, assess, design and implement solutions that improve client’s overall risk posture. You will build on your foundations in business and technology to design and implement business-aligned risk management programs, processes, and systems.

You will have the opportunity to work across diverse Operating Portfolios and Industries, housed under Portfoliowide, Operating Units. Our unique structure enables our professionals to specialize on their skills, while keeping our businesses agile to the current critical needs of our clients and capture developing opportunities in the evolving markets.

Areas of work could include:
• Assist in designing programs that provide assurance over risk mitigation processes for stakeholders
• Assist in developing holistic frameworks that enable compliance with legal and regulatory requirements across the globe
• Assist in helping clients respond to specific breakdowns in their regulatory compliance programs and assist infrastructure to address the wide variety of specific regulations and regulatory risks
• Assist in executing on data management and analytics engagements to help clients tackle financial reporting risks
• Assist in helping clients establish value-adding programs to reduce the risk of outsourcing and extended enterprise
• Assist in developing competitive strategies that make the enterprise resilient to veritable interruptions
• Interact with teams to understand risk management program requirements
• Assist the team in facilitating client interviews and/or workshops to understand current and future state requirements
• Perform due diligence and research to determine best possible solutions for client problems

Qualifications
• (Pursuing) MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Specialization in Finance) • 0-36 Months of previous, full-time work experience
Preferred skills: Knowledge of any one or more of the following, while not a criterion for selection, would be useful:
• Risk management
• Governance & Compliance processes, including Basel II & III, Dodd Frank Act, Investment Advisers Act, Volcker, FBEPS, EPS, CCAR, BCBS 239, etc.
• Information Security
• Enterprise Data Management
• Data Analytics
• Regulatory Reporting

Desired foundational skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation)
• Excellent analytical and critical thinking/problem-solving skills
• Openness and ability to learn and work across various areas, tools, technologies
• Ability to deal with ambiguous problems and drive towards outcomes
• Ability to work with various business teams and deliver the right solution
• Intellectual curiosity with the desire to continue to develop professionally
