Senior Analyst – TMT Cross-Industry Researcher
Job Profile
Conducting advanced secondary research, supporting primary research projects, analyzing emerging industry trends, sensing and marketplace scanning, leveraging digital and analytical tools to uncover insights, and supporting Deloitte TMT center researchers and TMT practice leaders to help shape market narratives.
This role will work closely with US and India TMT center team, in designing and delivering evidence-based research that influences key stakeholders and clients.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Ability to use Gen AI for research and adapt content to specific audiences, e.g., executive roles, client leaders, internal practice teams etc.
- Ideation/Sensing/Scanning: Conduct white-space analysis to identify emerging and novel industry topics, point-of-views, or trends to support ideation and development of research projects.
- Research and analysis:
- Execute secondary research focused on scanning and tracking marketplace trends and developments across TMT, interconnecting quantitative and qualitative data/insights from diverse sources and synthesizing all the findings into consumable/easy-to-digest deliverables and collaterals – for Deloitte’s industry practice leaders.
- Analyze and visualize large datasets (e.g., their patterns, trends, group-based analysis, etc.) using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL, R, Python, and MS Excel to generate actionable insights.
- Collaborate with global R&I and member firm teams to align research outputs and connect “so-what” aspects of insights with Deloitte’s business priorities and client interests.
- Synthesis / report generation:
- Create compelling research deliverables—reports, decks, collaterals, dashboards, short articles—with strong storytelling and data visualization.
- Enhance digital research assets and dashboards with automation and GenAI features to improve accessibility and impact, internally, for TMT practice leaders.
Required Experience and Skills
- Experience: 4–6 years in research or analytics roles within the technology, media, or telecommunications sectors (consulting, market research, or think-tank experience preferred).
- Research skills: Proven expertise in both qualitative and quantitative research and analysis —covering breadth of data (across diverse sources for industry, market and company specific insights) and depth of analysis (e.g., financial analysis, statistical analysis, validating/triangulating, projecting/modelling etc.).
- Technical proficiency: Strong command of data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R). Experience with one or more AI-assisted tools is a must (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini).
- Analytical storytelling: Ability to distill through extensive research and data to generate relevant and actionable insights, structure them logically and communicate complex findings clearly in written and visual formats.
- Industry knowledge: Familiarity with one or more emerging technology areas (e.g. AI, robotics, cloud, edge computing, 5G/6G, gaming, media streaming, sports and live entertainment).
