Senior Analyst - Global Strategy, Innovation and Public Policy (USI)
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong analytical capabilities, global awareness, and an interest in geopolitical and public policy developments to join Deloitte’s Global Strategy, Innovation and Public Policy (SIPP) team in India. This role offers the opportunity to analyze geopolitical trends, public policy developments, and global macroeconomic shifts, and assess their implications for Deloitte’s business, clients, and strategic priorities.
The Team
Our Global SIPP organization sits at the core of the Firm’s strategy, working closely with member firms, industries, and practice areas to shape Deloitte’s long-term global positioning. Within SIPP, the Public Policy & Geopolitics team helps firm leadership understand how geopolitical shifts, regulatory changes, and public policy developments impact markets, clients, and the professional services landscape. The team translates complex global developments into strategic insights and actionable implications for leadership.
Work you’ll do
As a team player, you will focus on research, analysis, and insight generation on geopolitical and public policy topics that influence business decision-making. You will support Deloitte’s senior leaders in navigating an increasingly complex global environment by identifying risks, opportunities, and strategic implications arising from global events.
You will bring an independent perspective and contribute to diverse viewpoints while working with global stakeholders on high-impact, cross-border topics. The role involves working across geographies and supporting strategic initiatives influenced by geopolitical dynamics, regulatory environments, and public sector developments.
Core Responsibilities
•Own end-to-end delivery of geopolitical and public policy work products, including conducting research, analysis, synthesis, and drafting final outputs, ensuring high-quality, executive-ready deliverables in an evolving and ambiguous global environment
•Conduct research and horizon scanning on geopolitical, macroeconomic, and policy developments across regions and sectors
•Assess the business impact of geopolitical and public policy developments (e.g., elections, policy/regulatory shifts, trade developments, sanctions, and international relations) by identifying risks, opportunities, and strategic implications for Deloitte and its clients
•Synthesize insights into clear implications, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations for leadership
•Support development of thought leadership on geopolitics and public policy trends
•Develop and apply quantitative models to analyze varied datasets, conduct scenario analysis, and evaluate the impact of geopolitical developments
•Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to integrate geopolitical insights into broader strategic initiatives
•Apply established tools and methodologies (e.g., structured problem-solving and analytical frameworks) to support decision-making under uncertainty
•Build relationships with global colleagues and help build consensus and achieve goals through influence
Qualifications, experience, work location, and timing
•MBA or master’s degree from a reputed institution (preferred focus on Strategy, Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, or related fields)
•Four or more years of relevant experience, with at least three years in research and analysis roles (experience in geopolitics, public policy, economic research, or risk advisory preferred)
•Demonstrated ability in structured research, analysis, synthesis, and storytelling
•Strong understanding of global political and economic environments, with ability to connect macro trends to business implications
•Familiarity with secondary research tools (e.g., Factiva, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Economist Intelligence Unit, etc.)
•Strong Excel-based modelling capabilities, including building and interpreting quantitative models
•Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex topics for senior leadership
•Strong critical thinking and ability to work in ambiguous and evolving environments
•Self-starter with ability to work independently and collaboratively in global virtual teams
•Ability to develop high-quality, executive-ready deliverables
•Good to have: Familiarity with AI tools and prompt engineering
