Position Summary

Level: Trainee Associate

As an experienced Trainee Associate at Deloitte Consulting Services, you will be responsible for individually delivering high quality work products within due timelines.

We support clients by delivering Operate services spanning the Regulatory, Risk & Forensic portfolio. We embed continuous advantage through domain, industry, technology / Gen AI, and transformation skills to perform client business functions that manage risk and deliver value - added outcomes. 

The team:

Deloitte’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) practice delivers sophisticated advisory and compliance services to organizations worldwide, including both financial and non-financial institutions, enabling them to address complex regulatory requirements related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and economic sanctions. Our team comprises seasoned professionals whose backgrounds span former bank regulators, federal law enforcement officials, financial compliance experts, IT specialists, economists, statisticians, bankers, and industry advisors. This diversity of expertise allows Deloitte to provide multidimensional and highly effective solutions for clients navigating today’s evolving risk landscape. We work collaboratively to help organizations design, implement, and enhance AML and sanctions programs, aligning with global standards and regulatory expectations to ensure strong controls and robust risk management. Leveraging advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, and automation, our innovative approach supports clients throughout their compliance lifecycle—from initial risk assessments and framework development to ongoing enhancement, testing, and remediation. Deloitte’s service portfolio includes transaction monitoring, retrospective lookbacks, and investigative support; comprehensive AML and Know Your Customer (KYC) assessments—including Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD); Currency Transaction Report (CTR) reviews; sanctions alert analysis; independent testing and risk evaluations; and fraud review activities. Beyond routine advisory work, we assist clients in responding to regulatory inquiries and in rectifying compliance lapses, always striving to restore program integrity and build resilience for the future. Qualifications

Must Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

  • 0 to 1 years experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) operations or foundational knowledge of AML concepts, financial crime prevention strategies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of desktop procedures and standard operating guidelines for transaction and document review accuracy.
  • Alignment with established productivity and quality metrics, ensuring deliverables meet reliability standards.
  • Timely issue escalation protocol followed for efficient resolution and workflow continuity.
  • Thorough documentation and reporting of process exceptions and irregularities for supervisor awareness.
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite, emphasizing Excel and Word for data organization and analysis.
  • Attention to detail supporting completeness and precision in document and transaction review.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities for assessment of transactions and pattern identification.
  • Clarity in verbal and written communication for team and management updates regarding findings and issues.
  • Due diligence research capability utilizing external databases and resources for transaction analysis support.
  • Receptivity to feedback and willingness for skill development and adaptation to changing client or system needs.
  • Emphasis on accuracy and compliance with standards through regular quality checking processes.
  • Familiarity with common industry platforms and compliance-related technologies supporting career development.
  • Adherence to confidentiality frameworks and maintenance of professional standards in sensitive data handling.

Good to Have Skills/Project Experience/Certifications:

  • Familiarity with AML software and compliance tools, or interest in developing proficiency in related technologies.
  • Base knowledge related to the regulatory landscape, such as the BSA, Patriot Act, U.S. Treasury AML guidelines, and OFAC requirements.
  • Basic understanding of financial crime investigations, AML remediation, or regulatory compliance through internships, academic projects, or extracurricular activities.
  • Awareness of Suspicious Activity Report (SAR) drafting, Currency Transaction Report (CTR) reviews, or similar regulatory documentation processes.
  • General understanding of emerging topics in financial crime, or new regulatory guidance.
  • Demonstrated openness to adapting in dynamic regulatory and business settings, with a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to present findings, risk observations, and process improvement suggestions to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.

Education:

  • BBA/BCom/BBM/BCA/B.Sc./BA degree or a similar 3-year graduate course from accredited university    

Location:

  • Hyderabad / Chennai

Shift Timings:

·       You may be required to work in different shift timings including night shift. In support of client deliverables, the Employer may require you to work on additional days (including weekends and holidays) and work from Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) or client location.
