Work you’ll do
Perform and execute design and programming activities for proprietary, client-focused commodity risk management system. This includes analyzing end-user requirements, translating business requirements into both functional and technical/database design, programming, testing, and writing system and end-user documentation. This position will interface directly with products' senior technical and business leaders and occasionally clients of the firm.
Assist our Energy and Resources clients (including Oil, Gas, Power, Utilities, etc.) with their energy commodity trading and risk management initiatives. This includes activities within the front, middle and back office. The goal is to support our clients' efforts to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their risk management programs. This position will also play a role in supporting the practice and clients by keeping both informed about industry trends, software products, technology solutions and their application to our client’s issues.
· Defines and analyzes user requirements/business needs for new and/or enhanced product functionality, and designs databases and SQL functions to support application requirements.
· Documents and communicates requirements to other IT personnel.
· Codes, tests and documents program code according to application need. May also indirectly supervise other programming resources.
· Assists in packaging and delivery of finished software product to client.
· Communicates with technical and business leaders on business requirements, system-related capabilities, programming progress, and enhancement status.

Qualifications
Required:
· Campus hire/new hire with strong aptitude for coding.
· Exposure in scripting languages like JavaScript and Angular. (JQuery, Ajax, etc.)
· Web application development using MS stack technologies like ASP.net, MVC and ASP.net Core
· Good understanding of Object Oriented programming and design patterns. Experience development reusable application frameworks would be a plus.
· Good knowledge with SQL Server 2012 R2 or higher and integration with ASP.NET is a plus.
· Experience with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) solutions including Allegro, Endur, CXL, Right Angle or other solutions will be added advantage
· Responsiveness, good communication skills, and client service orientation required. This position requires interfacing with clients, client contacts, firm partners and principals, and other senior client service professionals involved in the sales and development cycles of external products.
Other Considerations
· Demonstrate understanding of the energy (crude, refined products, gas, and power) transacting lifecycle from deal inception to settlements in some or all of the following areas:
· Front office (transacting/transacting support, logistics, scheduling, nominations)
· Middle office (risk control, risk reporting, risk management, credit)
· Back Office (bilateral invoicing, settlements and billing either wholesale or retail, transacting controls)
