As an integral part of this practice, the Regulatory and Legal Support (R&LS) team plays a vital role in managing risk and ensuring compliance for businesses. The R&LS team is specialized in risk management, governance, legal and regulatory enforcement action support, transactional flow analysis, legal entity structuring, compensation analysis/plans, and information reporting. By aligning people, processes, and technologies, the team guides clients through emerging regulatory regimes globally. It also supports clients who become targets of legal or regulatory enforcement actions by initiating internal investigations, which may include e-discovery and personnel interviews. The R&LS team's services aim to secure trust, resilience, and security for enduring success.

Work you’ll do:

As a consultant/senior consultant within our esteemed Capital Markets practice, your role will be pivotal in enhancing the operational efficiency, efficacy, and control mechanisms of both Buy Side and Sell Side organizations. Working alongside a team of industry specialists, you'll have the opportunity to provide advisory services to some of the world's most prominent financial services firms.

Your expertise will be applied to anticipate challenges, implement strategies to address regulatory reform, technological complexity, competitive dynamics, and market moves. This role is about turning critical and complex business issues into opportunities for growth, resilience, and long-term advantage for our clients. Your contribution will be critical in maintaining our reputation for industry excellence and in continuing our tradition of serving US banking and capital markets institutions with dedication and expertise.

Desired Experience:

      Industry Experience: Strong understanding of the US/International Banking and Securities Industry. This should ideally be backed by experience working with a financial services consulting organization or a large bank/broker-dealer/asset and wealth managers/RIAs.

      Trade Lifecycle Knowledge: Profound understanding of the Trade Life Cycle of Securities, Order/Execution Management Systems, Algorithmic Trading, etc.

      Domain Expertise: Exposure in one or more domains within Capital Markets and Asset Management such as Trading Operations, Securities Operations, Wealth/Asset Management Operations, Prime Brokerage Operations, Trust Operations, Custody, Clearing and Settlement, Automated Clearing House facilities, Investment Compliance, Trade and Market Surveillance, Conduct Risk, or other relevant domain areas. 

      Regulatory Reporting: Experience with regulatory reporting encompassing both financial and non-financial reporting requirements (CAT, CAIS etc.) is desirable. This includes exposure to reporting and supervision requirements of derivative transactions (Dodd-Frank Act).

      Regulatory Understanding: Strong comprehension of regulations pertaining to the U.S/International Regulators (e.g., SEC, FINRA, DOL, FCA, CFTC, EBA), and the US Securities Act, Exchange Act, Advisers Act.

      Financial Product Knowledge: A robust foundation in financial products across asset classes - Equities, Fixed Income, Currency, and Derivatives. Familiarity with investment banking and capital market instruments such as OTC derivatives, bonds, futures, options, and money market.

      Process Acquaintance: Knowledge of front, middle or back-office processes in the major capital market and investment management participants including investment banking, market infrastructure, custodians, hedge funds, private funds, trusts, etc.

      Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information.

      Consulting Experience: Prior external or internal consulting experience is highly valued.

      Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate through complex business scenarios.

      Quick turnaround Time: Flexible and dynamic in nature and able to turn around work quickly.

Required Qualifications

·       Master’s degree in finance or Master of Business Administration (MBA)

·       5-7 years of relevant experience

·       Across any of 7 USI locations (Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune)

Preferred

·       FRM and/or CFA certification

·       Demonstrable knowledge of, or exposure to, electronic trading platforms
